I want to get some more plants for before I get shrimp so they have more places to hide and for the tetra because they seem pretty shy and never go up to the top unless to eat. I think the tetras are a bit scared of the bright light so I’m going to get red root floaters or frogbit. Any ideas on...

Just realized that when shrimps cross breed they normally turn a brown color how do you selectively breed shrimp? What would I feed them?

Thanks I haven’t really thought about it but I might get some shrimp. If I do decide to get a pleco I’ll probably get a clown pleco as they stay pretty small.

I would ask Colin_T he’s always got good info for sick fish. It’s kind of hard to tell from the pictures do you have a normal (white light) setting for the lights rather than the colors? It might be a bit easier to see the fish if you do.

You could put it in water and see if it stops fizzing and test the water before and after to see how much it may have raised the pH. Really depends on what fish you have and what pH they prefer.

There are a lot of beginner plant like people have said above. Most plants will do fine in the sand and some even prefer to be on rocks or driftwood such as Anubias. The plants will just need some liquid fertilizer such as flourish. I also don’t have a lot of money to just spend on live aquarium...

Yeah if I missed some of the eggs and some more snails hatch I’ll probably get an assassin snail as well. Do they reproduce easily as well though?

I didn’t wash mine at all so now I have snails, I think I got rid of most of them but they layer eggs too so just hope I got all of those as well.

I am not very good with this but he looks ok to me but I could be totally wrong. Is there any other fish in his tank that could be ripping his fins? Has he always looked like that or is it something you just noticed?
