Probably different kinds of barbs or different kinds of tetras. Just about as much variety as possible. I wanted to do barbs or tetras in a 29 gallon but it isn’t big enough for the species I chose 😭

They are very active! Are the green ones dyed or natural? I really wanted the purple head barbs, golden barbs, and the eight banded barbs, maybe with some blue king tetras but it sadly wouldn’t work for the tank size. Maybe someday.

I was researching some more and I found these tetras. Would they work together in the 29? They are Hemigrammus rhodostomus, Boehlkea fredcochui, and Hyphessobrycon cyanotaenia. Probably about a school of 10 of each if that’s good what do you think, and 12 panda Cory’s?

When I first saw that picture I was like omg 😱 what is that!!!! Lol

It could be the high nitrates, not sure if they are super sensitive fish but nitrates can slowly harm the fish over time so a 50% water change and test again. See what it is at and if it still a bit high you could do another 25% water change the next day.

Your stocks sound pretty good to me but we do need your water parameters to confirm it completely. I would do driftwood for a natural decoration and live plant are surprisingly easy to take care of. I would recommend Anubias, Amazon sword, and golden creeping Jenny they are some of my favorites...

I would recommend either shrimp or a beta. It depends on the tank shape. Is it like a rectangle or is it a more odd shape I guess, like a bowl or bow front?

Not really sure about a time frame. It really depends on the fish, they are probably very stressed but as for an exact time frame it’s hard to say, but I would maybe give it another week and see how they are doing by then.

I feel like the wood in the center would look good kind of as a center piece and to break up the aquarium. If you get a twisty kind of one not sure what it’s called. You could put some plants in the crevices such as Anubias and other plants that prefer their roots out of substrate.

I am sorry but I haven’t tried this. I hadn’t realized how hard it actually is to successfully breed and raise the little shrimps. The steps you are taking seem to be good to me, though I could be wrong.

I am personally not good at scaping either but maybe look online and find a scape that you would like and look closely and see how they may have built it. If you find one you like put it on here so maybe we can help piece it together, but that would be a good start.

Yes I agree it is to small for fish I have always wanted to try a saltwater tank, maybe someday. Maybe a saltwater hermit crab. It says for 2 you need 5 gallons but with 1 think 3 gallons would be fine.

I mean she is moving, I have defiantly seen much worse for sure. I wouldn’t worry that you didn’t feed her this morning. To me she looks a bit bloated, I could be wrong but a day or 2 without feeding her might help the bloating. See what Colin_T says though too.

Defiantly a peacock gudgeon. I would do a 1 male for every 3 females just to play it safe but 2 females per male would be fine to, like Rocky998 said. It all really depends on the size of the tank and what other fish are in the tank with him.
