it is a good deal but fishtanks lose so much value from new especially larger tanks, a bit like cars in a way...... hang on at that price and if its becoming a pain then lower it a bit. £50 less can make all the difference to a buyer but also to the seller :sad:

the FX5 will automatically turn off roughly every 24 hours to allow any trapped air inside to be released. it should turn back on after a couple of minutes and keep running then for another 24 hours.

yes im dosing ferts EI method with good results so far for a change..... with my substrate its very difficult to see any poop and with the plecs and even the rams whizzing about it all gets broken down anyway. i know what you mean though about the messy look. please dont try and make me change...

i really like red fish against the green of a planted tank and i just think that a single colour fish would have better impact in my tank tbh. my cardinals have great blue and red, my angels are silver/black stripes with a hint of red and red fins, the rams are very yellow/orange/pink...

there are so many places for the fry to hide in this tank i just know some would make it.... those that didnt get eaten or sucked into the filters would be very safe right in the middle among the wood and plants and i dont want loads of juvi platys :no:

oooooh i think ive decided then..... red platys it is :hyper: just got to think about how many now then! i was thinking about 6-8 to start with and see how it looks :unsure: i dont want fry so ill just get males

Nice tank mate. Is that angelfish a wild caught fish? If so it will grow into a beauty.

i have thought of rummys because the are wonderfull shoaling fish but they are a bit hyper and im not sure i want that as my tank is very gracefull at the minute. except when the angels have a pop at each other and the rams are breeding..... but generaly its gracefull :lol:

thanks mate it really does show their colours off well even if they are blurry..... it also shows how big they have got too alongside the angels.

What size is the tank? Are you sure its not first, can you post a pic?

ive tweaked the new scape a bit as there were a few things that werent quite right.... a few more tweaks to do and a few gaps to fill now but im getting there....

my input is to research and look at smaller cichlids like the firemouth and convicts as i feel that they will be much more suitable for this type of tank set up. i just cant see severums and oscars being feasable in there...... there are hundreds of beautifull smaller cichlids available but...
