What are your parameters? A picture would help.

A picture would help to determine what it is.

Is my Swordtail pregnant If so how long until she gives birth?

She should give birth in a week or so; the black gravid mark on her belly is a tell-tale sign. If you don't have a place to keep the fry, get a big jar and scoop out the fry as fast as you can, then put the jar in the tank so they can see each other but don't interact until you can get a breeder...

    Cory Catfish not doing well.

Did you dechlorinate the water before adding it to the aquarium? What are your parameters? A picture would really help.If there's red on is belly he might have scraped it on something- can you post a picture of the tank too so we can see what may have caused it?

Lighting for 120 gallon planted tank

Maybe a tunasun light would work. I hear that they are great for planted tanks but are quite expensive and you'll need two or three for the whole tank. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QHDL6MK/?tag=ff0d01-20

Welcome! What are the parameters of your new tank, and what fish are you planning to add?

    Stocking suggestions

That's about ten gallons. Zebra Danios need to be in groups of at least six, and you could fit about that many in a tank that size. You could get a pair of guppies instead, or some pygmy corydoras. Can you post a picture of the tank so we know what fish it's good for? What are your...

    My tanks

Thanks frofro, but I already know it's overstocked and I am going to move them soon.
  9. Jessie J.

    I need advise plz

I think that would fit. You could also use dragon stone if you don't mind the cost; some driftwood and hard-leaved live plants would look nice in there too.

    The betta breeding project

Well if they breed without a bubble nest, what do you think they are going to do with the eggs?

    The betta breeding project

I don't think so, but it's instinct. He didn't make one last night so I am giving them another day.

    20 gallon long stocking?

What are your parameters/the temperature? As for the stocking that would be fine, and you could add a couple more fish- maybe some pygmy or panda cories, plus a few more shrimp if you wanted. Your tank looks great, and it has the right decor to comfortably house shrimps/danios. Good luck with...

    The betta breeding project

So I am going to breed Moscow, the royal blue, with Empress, another royal blue. I have her in an open-top vase in Moscow's tank right now. I will wait till morning for a bubble nest, then release the female. What should I do if there's no bubble nest? He seems very engaged in trying to impress...

    My tanks

Here's a list of all my tanks! Tomorrow I will post pictures of them all. 10-gallon with a royal blue veiltail betta, Moscow, shrimp, snails, plants, and golden freshwater clams. The betta sometimes shares quarters with Persia, my light yellow veiltail with navy blue spots. 10-gallon with...

    Clown Killifish Questions

A 5-gallon is too small to house them humanely. They will LIVE in a tank that size but they'll hate it. Go for a 10-gallon or bigger. And if you can't get live foods, you can use freeze-dried bloodworms to help supplement their insectivore diet. As for the filter, if you get a 10-gallon I would...

    Sick guppy

I checked on my tank today and saw another fish with white, fungus-ey growths on the fins and body, and one of the eyes is clouded over. What should I do? What medications should I get? All the fish are eating fine.

    Guppies in one gallon possible

Besides, once they cherry shrimp get a good population going you'll need to move them. As a general rule for shrimp stocking you can fit 50 in a 5-gallon tank but no more than ten in smaller tanks. And I have kept six different bettas with dwarf shrimp before, but it all depends on their...

    Sick guppy

Hi everyone. I have a group of five guppies and about a week ago, I suspected that they had tapeworm so I treated with API general cure (for tapeworm, gill flukes, etc.) and they all looked much better. They were pale, stayed at the surface, and had big bellies even though they hadn't given...

    What are they?

    Goldust lyretail mollies. Cool fishes!

    Guppies in one gallon possible

No, a 1-gallon is too small for guppies or, humanely, any other fish. That's too small even for a betta. But if you can upgrade to a 5-gallon tank, you could get a pair of guppies or a betta with your shrimp, and maybe a Mystery snail or some otocinclus. Good luck!

    Slime coat or something else?

It looks like some sort of fungus or infection on her fins. Has she had any fin-picking incidents lately?

Fantail Goldfish in 10 Gallon Tank

I would say until it gets a month or so old, then move it to a larger tank. But if that's the only tank you have and you don't have the fish yet, don't get it.

    The ram cichlid project

    The pond tank

So near where I live there's a big pond (actually divided by a road to make two), and I got some mosquitofish from there. It's being drained and trees around it are being torn down because houses are going to be built soon. The deforestation stinks, but my dad and me might be going there soon to...

Betta and Ghost Shrimp living in harmony!

Good to hear! But what may not be good to hear is that 1 or 2 gallon is way too small for a betta, especially for a betta and some shrimps too. Try moving them to a five gallon. Good luck with your shrimps!

How far do you have to go? Are you taking a vehicle? If it's less then a 40-minute drive they'll be fine if you use a durable plastic bag with lots of air inside. If they are being transported in a fish bowl make sure to keep stirring the water (or just agitating the surface) to provide oxygen.

Yes, but bristlenose plecs can get quite large and they are known to eat baby shrimp and sometimes the adults. If there's enough hiding places they'll probably be fine.

    Shrimp Questions

Ciches, plecos are known to eat baby shrimps even if they are mainly plant-eaters (herbivores). And Deanasue what type of shrimps did you get?

    Problem with Harlequin???

How big is their tank, what are the parameters, are there any other fish in there with the harleys, and what kind of decorations do you have? It does look like a loose scale but it's a little big and I can't be sure.
