i have bred many fish.....i never liked or used those breeding boxes....they stress fish out....a seperate tank is always best.....but you gotta do what you gotta do....

personally i wouldn't trust that stand to hold a 26 gallon tank, a 26 gallon tank will weigh about 300 pounds with water, tank, substrate, etc

well..... you could remove the fish, or do it with them in there put them in a bucket filled with your tank water....its really not rocket science

a cannister filter is going to increase the water flow from what you have, so your gourami still wont be happy, a cannister filter will turn your tank into a whirlpool go with the foam filter....it is cheap as heck but very effective and literally lasts a lifetime.....rinse it every 2-3 months...
