Same thing happened with my angel pair that i had in a community tank. They laid eggs out of nowhere on a big leaf so i went and got a 29gal and set it up for them. Within 3 days of them being in there they laid eggs and i got hundreds of babies! Good times!

Some of my plants have withered a bit on the left hand side of the tank, not sure if it's due to the frogbit blocking out light or something else. Kuhli loach hanging out My mystery snails are getting nice and fat! Cherry shrimp have survived so far! I think some are even pregnant! Twiggy...

I can attest to that. The owner of the LFS near me loves doing the salesman thing. Oh you need this and that and add some of this and you must get one of these. Next minute you walk out with $200 worth of crap you didn't go there for. ?‍♂️

man you would have saved yourself thousands of $$ over the years haha my plants are in sand which i know there's no nutrients in (i've added root tabs but that's all), would the fish waste be enough to keep the plants going?

Just wondering what supplements/chemicals do people add to their tanks after a water change? I've been in the habit of adding API Stress zyme and for a while was also adding API Stress coat after each water change. Now i replaced the Stress coat with Seachem Prime which i add to the new water...

If you know anyone with an already cycled aquarium see if you can borrow some media from their filter to help cycle your tank faster without using fish. What i did when i set up my 100L was took some gravel from my other tank that was already running for over a year and put it in a stocking then...

I've got a royal farlowalla, awesome fish! Constantly cleaning the tank like a champion. Doesn't really get on the algae flakes either but i think there's enough biofilm for him to graze on.

if you wanted to add shrimp with the rams in there you'll need to provide a lot more cover for the shrimp to hide than what you have now.

i've got a honey gourami with mystery snails and red cherry shrimp and i've never seen him bother either the snails or shrimp. Very peaceful fish.

some kuhli loaches would look great wriggling through those rocks! Could make a great clean up crew, get along with the Betta and can tolerate higher temps. Nice tank!

i've got 4 of these pangio seminicas and one big pango oblonga. These are by far my favourite little fish! So entertaining to watch as they wiggle their way through the tank and sift through the sand! That's definitely a well fed little noodle :lol:

I have had a male and female kribensis together in a community tank. They got on fine with all the fish in the tank (angels, rainbows, clown + yoyo loaches, BGK and bristlenose. Then the female died and the male is on his own now. The only fish he has beef with is my Empire Gudgeon now...

Drip...drip....drip So i added the cherry red shrimp to my tank. Straight away my Ram came for a snoop and grabbed 2 shrimp, was thinking oh no it's going to be a massacre! But the funniest thing happened. One big fat red shrimp swam straight up to the Ram and faced off with him! It stared him...

Today i added some more Telanthera and some Blue Stricta just to fill out the tank a bit and give the fish some more cover. Also added a piece of driftwood that i attached some Java moss to! So if i added some shrimp what chance would they have to survive in there with my Blue Ram lurking...

Yeh they laid one more batch of eggs when i moved them back to the community tank but they ate them and then they divorced. Was good while it lasted!
