    Are heaters really necessary?

It's really a difference between whether your fish are surviving or thriving and what you want to get out of the tank

    New corys

Ok, those are really nice fish. I would gladly have either in any of my tanks

Fluval A101 Air Pump = Garbage

Brand new, out of the box from Amazon. I know how to install a simple air stone, so it's not a user error. Something in the housing, when the hose connects to the output, causes a god awful buzzing.

Fluval A101 Air Pump = Garbage

I had a fluval A101 air pump sitting around I ordered on Amazon. Thing is so loud it is unusable. Shame too, I really like Fluval products overall.

Pea Puffer ~ Trying to decide on a good tank mate...

7-gallon tank with the current inhabitants being my little pea puffer "P-Diddy", 3 cherry shrimp and 2 blue shrimp. I bought this tank solely so my wife could have a puffer fish, but I would like at least a little more action to view. I'd like to get 1 or 2 more little creatures to go in the...

There are also 100 of different factors that go into how things work for you based on where you live, your setup, etc. I utilize the...

My wife just yelled at me for keeping the testing vials I use drying right next to the kitchen sink lol

    Shrimpery Kit

Any puffer owners out there...what are you feeding your fish regularly? I've got a few tanks...but between my assassin snails and this little guy they are wiping out my ramshorn snails rapidly.

    Shrimpery Kit

It wasn't expensive on Amazon, so I took a stab...we shall see. I'm not using them for anything other than feeding my pea puffer...a single pea puffer...and a few shrimp

    Shrimpery Kit

Anyone ever used this kit and had any luck? The little pea puffer I just got is slaying ramshorn snail babies left and right...but I don't have an endless supply of those at the moment. Just got this from Amazon today to give a whirl, figured I would see if anyone on here has used one.

    What are you doing today?

Today I am trying to accommodate the young dog our 20 year old is fostering but has finals and is quickly realizing...dogs can be alot...especially dogs coming from a bad situation. Our old girl isn't keen on this young female being here...but so far, so good.

    40-Gallon Breeder

12/12/2022 - Day 22 - Tank is cycled and a handful of fish went in today. This will be a slow-going stocking of fish and additional plants, but I like where it is headed.

    Pea Puffers

I went to several LFS and on my second one I landed two pea puffers...I can't wait to build out a tank specifically for them. they are currently in quarantine (my quarantine tank is actually pretty nice and accommodating) but I'm going to find a 10 gallon nano tank tomorrow to start cycling. I'm...

    Pea Puffers

I'm wondering how easy it is to find a pea puffer. I don't believe I've seen any at my LFS's around the northwest Atlanta area. Are these a, "you gotta order them" kinda freshwater fish?

    Electric blue rams acting weird!

Yeah, I thought they might have paired up as they seemed to be that way at the LFS. Oh well, the circle of life continues...I gave the fish a good home in the short time he was with me, I at least know that much.
  31. PewPewChris

    Snail ID?

I would concur with ramshorn...I've got a lot of them that came over on plants and I didn't see them until they got that size. The one that has survived my assassin snail gauntlet is HUGE

    Electric blue rams acting weird!

Yup, I knew something wasn't right...got back from taking my son to his piano lesson and I found the ram dead buried in some moss under a rock. He/she took a quick turn as they both seemed fine as of last night.

    Electric blue rams acting weird!

I'm dealing with this right now with my two electric blue rams in quarantine. All the same "dancing" and postering as mentioned above. They both have seemed fine, today the smaller of the two fish has been laying low...not sure if it's due to bullying or if it's a female and she is about to lay...

Can someone please tell me what these are!?!?

It's an African cichlid of some variety...but of course, being you are in this section of the forum, you already know that lol

    40-Gallon Breeder

12/5/2022 - Blacked out the back of the tank. Simply used poste board, cut to size and taped to the back/black rim of the tank. It's temporary but looks decent to me and was up in 2 - 3 minutes. I have some black suction cups coming for the air hose line, that will help the overall look.
