my neon tetras do this... I call it dancing. They never headbutt or fin nip each other so even if it is territorial (or dominance) I leave them be. I'd wait for a more experienced person to comment, but that's my 2cents :)

They have 2 half coconut shells with moss on and a small moss ball. They may go to live in my nano when it's set up :)

I took the husk off (the hairy bit). I found it was softened with the boiling, so I got an old serrated knife and just scraped it off. One member on here (I remember reading) gave the shells to his/her dogs and they loved dehusking them :) I wish I could cut stuff too. I might wait until...

Thats a tad extreme geoff.. my main point was that I'd be feeding live food... I dont eat a cow inbetween a bun with ketchup while it's alive! It's like I couldn't feed a live mouse to a snake, and as some people have pointed out on here in other threads, if you add certain small fish to a tank...

I personally would have the use the clove oil method. I couldnt bring myself to strike any of my animals, and although I work in a lab and dissect things all the time, I couldn't cut a live fish, even though I know it is the quickest way.

have you made one yet? what I did with mine (although mine are just domes, I was too scared to cut out the "doors") was boil them in a pan of water for 15 minutes. Some tannins came out but nothing I'd have worried about in the tank, and it made sure they were definitely clean.
