I have a discus tank that just has aquarium river sand in. I have lights on I've added giant vallis, swords, java fern, and some harder leaved plants that grow well on wood whos name escapes me :) I add aquadip plant food but my plants so far dont seem to be doing at all well. I have only...

What you should know about discus

discus are ace fish and not as tricky as people make out but some can occasionally test your patience with an unwillingness to eat no matter what I currently have about 12 I think in my set up with altums and plecs. They feed on pellet food as well as beefheart from Chens discus which is the...

    Golden Pacu??

I love my big fish and keep a few myself but a pacu is one that in my opinio gets far too big for the home aquarum as others have said its not just length its their weight and bulk. Plus as they get older they aren't that exciting a fish to watch which is a sad to thing to say

it's going to be a strange world... fish keeping in the future... Glo Arowana's??? what's next...

I am seeing more and more of this on the facebook pages particularly from the Asian market. I wish they would leave them alone the short bodied squat fish are my major hates seeing deformed looking aros and red tailed cats is horrible but unfortunately there is a market for them

My Kelberi Peacock Bass. Quite new to me had him about 2 months now but he is stunning. About 17" which is more that most of the internet says they grow. He is always as bright as this as well and just stands out in the tank A favourite of mine for sure

    Clown loaches

My 7 are kept in ph of about 6.5 my GH and KH is too low and the temp is about 29 as there are discus in there also Brilliant fish by the way one of my favourites and easy enough to keep just need space, hideouts and food

    Discus chasing

You'll need to address that probably by removing it and maybe adding another as suggested otherwise it'll shy away and not eat and fade away. Discus are a pain for it, think I have about 13 in my tank now and its odd how the pecking order can change also

Does anyone keep a grow out thank in the garage UK ? Through the whole year ?

My tanks are all in the garage and have been for 8 years. I have a 9ft,6ft with their associated sumps and a marine small reef tank No issues other than energy prices were quite high but I fitted a roller shutter door to it which has insulated it really well and I believe energy use is well down

    New Freshwater Predator Tank

I bough this tank new but it was a massive rip off and has questionable build quality. I'd buy second hand there are loads of tanks that arent even old from reputable manafacturers going for bargain prices These bichirs I have had a couple of years. The endilicheri i bought at about a foot its...

    New Kelberi Peacock Bass

I have a new found love for Peacock Bass after buying a Mono the other month which after an initial tough time with my stupid arowana is now healing, very confident and greedy. They just look so good in the tank I had always wanted a kelberi and this one popped up for sale an hour away so I...
