    Watch those leds

The leap from tungsten to tubes was huge in efficiency. The move from that to LEDS is much much less and one has to factor in capital cost. Given the under "spec-ing" of components in your standard LED product and the actual MTBF/replacement cost I know I'm not saving so far. I won't be...

They are legislating many of the florescent tubes out so people that want to stick with what they have may want to stock up.

    Full red delta guppies

Vey pretty fish. I can't get my head around how many tanks it must take to separate the fish and see if they breed true. How does one even do it at all. How much can you tell about a female genes until she has offspring?

    Watch those leds

There is an overall tendency to exceed LED specifications by product manufacturers because they will tolerate it for a short time and it save them money. And some LED makers fib a bit

Any strong opinions on the ethics of long-fin varieties of fish?

The long forked tail of my Japan Blue does absolutely nothing to alleviate the irritation of the females. Astonishingly fast swimmer, not sure every manipulation to the genetics is harmful.

    Power Out For 2 Days

A shame. about the loach. We learned the need for a generator long ago living in northern climes, even if it seems to be very urban and protected. Fireplaces and woodstoves are also high the list of essentials. Don't forget to keep a few gallons of fuel 'cuz when the power is lost that means...

    Safe for aquariums? Dap clear

I hate that it says "mold free' implies a fungicide however internet sleuthing suggests a number of sites say it is safe eg:https://reefersdirect.com/best-aquarium-silicones/

Winter isn't fun to drain rads, recover anitfreeze etc. ( my Arizona buddies can't seem to wrap their heads around the whole antifreeze thing). There are simple battery terminal ends that clamp on, otherwise you do need a hydraulic press.

Dog question 9with a sad start)

Best dog we ever had was a setter on the mother's side and an unknown father who enjoyed a dalliance when mum escaped one day. Gentle, would play with an ant without harm, yet protect and loved to help chase Raccoons away, would follow your lead explicity. Would sit and carefully watch you do...

Dog question 9with a sad start)

Canada has been so good at spaying and neutering that even our mixed puppies sell for big bucks. A family member got suckered into a Caribbean rescue operation in Ottawa and what was described to them as a "coconut lab" (I kid you not) turned out to be a whippet-ish ( read fast) paranoid thing...
