This has the same footprint as a 20 long. Height doesn't matter with livebearers because they aren't a tall fish (correct me if I'm wrong). But of course bigger is better.

You need a 40 breeder for mollies. I think that's the smallest.

You could keep goldfish in a 46. I'd stick to 2 fancy goldies. Also only buy them if they fit your water parameters. Schooling fish would work fine as well. @Deanasue is the goldfish master.

That's very impressive. I've heard that the catfish are quite hardy. I'd love to see some pictures :).
