More Water Changes Or A New Filter

CO2 is supplied by a JBL CO2 M602 set, so I don't think this could be the problem.

More Water Changes Or A New Filter

I have a Juwel Rio 120ltr tank that has been running fine since September last year. The tank is quite heavily planted and I have noticed over the last few weeks that the background and my bogwood is getting covered in a green hairy algae.   I do a weekly 25% water change and was wondering if...

Possible White Spot Outbreak On My Dwarf Gourami

Having just done a little more research and having see a few images of fish with whitespot, I don't think this is now the problem. The spots are much larger than a grain of sugar/salt, they are more like white blemishes of around 0.5cm in size.

Very interesting debate, currently have a Juwel 125 tank with an internal filter, but looking to build a new tank for the bedroom .... So noise levels would be a big concern, are external filters such as the Tetratec range mentioned fairly quiet ??

Can I Add A Pleco And Will It Help Me Algae Problem ?

Thanks for the info Stu, I am using a basic TMC CO2 pressurised system (£50 job) and also a weekly dose of ferts. I will have a look at the algae guide later and see if I can detect which algae I have. The lighting was on for around 12 hours, so probably a bit on the long side !! ... I also...

Can I Add A Pleco And Will It Help Me Algae Problem ?

Thanks for the information, the tank is not near a window so it is not being effected by direct sunlight. I will certainly try some shrimps ! I use the API test kit and the results seem to be fairly consistent. I have also recently used the JBL paper strips and they produce a similar result.

Can I Add A Pleco And Will It Help Me Algae Problem ?

I have a 125l tank which completed its fishless cycle about 3 weeks ago and so far I have added 6 Glowlight and 6 neon Tetras. The tank also has a range of plants with CO2 The tank levels are good with NH3=0, NO2=0, but the PH level is a little low at 6.5, I think this is due to the Nutra soil...

    Fishless Cycle - Help Required

Hi, I have been doing the fishless cycle as posted on the forum for the last month and I have successfully got the Nitrite level down to 0.00ppm with an Ammonia level of around 0.25pm (within a 12 hr period) Yesterday evening I did a 75% water change and this morning I tested the water and the...

    Tank Cycling And Plants

I'm quite surprised at how badly the heater has been calibrated, so I will certainly be using the thermometer as my check. Thanks for the info on the fishless cycling, especially the comment with regards to doing the cycle with the lights off .... I hadn't thought of this. From the 2x comments...

    Tank Cycling And Plants

Hi everyone, I'm new to the site but have already found loads of very great advice. I purchased a small 35l cold water tank about a year ago and have had mixed results with minnows and gold fish. I wish that I had known about the tank cycling as I'm sure this is why I lost a few fish. I'm guess...
