I am fearing that too... but trying to hope that because his behavior is still good that there is a chance.   He has no red streaks other than the ones that are natural to his color near the front.  He does have red on that patch on his tail that was all black before.

The black area on his tail I mentioned once seems to have developed red patches today, ulcers maybe?  I hope that his meds arrive soon and it tackles that too... starting to feel afraid he won't make it that long... his behavior is still good so that is something.

This is in my betta tank, so 1 betta and 1 horned nerrite, 10 gallons.   I am really concerned if that is playing up now too as I am trying to heal my betta of a serious fin rot issue... currently waiting on last hope meds to arrive for a new course of treatment before he loses his entire fin...

I've only been testing the ammonia.  I will run the test again right now and answer your question. Right... it is colored between 0.25 and 0.5 right now... and I added myaxzin a couple hours ago.

After the cloudiness cleared (it cleared when I took the sludge from my other tank and squeezed my betta's filter sponge in it to try and gather new bacteria)... Tropical flakes tend not to have enough nutrients for bettas so really aren't worth using.   A good quality pellet can provide your betta with all the nutrients it needs.  I feed mine pellets that I pre-soak.  He only rarely gets other bits and he doesn't really care for anything else other than...

Thank-you, all the reading on cloudy water can get confusing, it is nice to get a certain reply.   So far my water stats are fine, nearly out of ammonia testing though but I got a dispatch notice so that should be here tomorrow.  I do have plenty for testing the nitrites though.
