    New Betta Nano scape!

After an issue with my betta being fin nipped I decided it was best he was to get his own tank. I found a small 30Litre tank on Amazon for like £40, and luckily had some spare substrate, sand and driftwood, and gathered some Christmas moss and a variety of anubias from the main tank to create...

Vote Now! - March 2022 Tank of the Month Contest (16 US gal & smaller)

Here’s my 15 US Gal long tank - not filled the to the top so maybe about 50Litres I wanted to create a simple, low maintainable low tech bog feel for this scape. Slow flow, Lots of bogwood and river rocks with simple easy growing plants, I’d eventually like to add some emersed plants in the back...

    Lump on rasbora!

Yeah I can’t find anything online that even looks closely similar. He’s swimming about perfectly fine and eating too, doesn’t look to be acting any different to normal. The tank has been set up almost a year now, but the fish are over 2years old, and the tanks about 60L. There’s 8 harlequins and...

    Lump on rasbora!

Hey guys, quick emergency ask - came home from work to find one of my harlequin rasbora to have a very large lump on its side. Not sure if this is a tumour or what but it’s very very prominent Hopefully you can see in the photos I’ve attached - did the best I could getting a good photo. Any...

    180Litre community tank progress

I think I’ll go without for awhile and see if theres any affect on plant health. I have very little issue with algae growth due to the I think, the light levels, water quality and the abundance of my shrimp who do a brilliant job keeping the tank clean. Maybe the carbon helps keep it at bay too...

    180Litre community tank progress

Yeaaah that doesn’t sound good. What alternative liquid carbon would you recommend to use? Is the seachems florish comp liquid fert, and their declorinator atleast safe for livestock? Bit worried now that I’m slowly poisoning my fish

    180Litre community tank progress

Thanks so much Wills! 🖤 Do you think adding a Pearl gourami or similar centrepiece kinda fish would be ok or do you think I’m abit too heavily stocked already to even add the one

    180Litre community tank progress

Sure! I got all the plants, substrate and hardscape from aquariumgardens.co.uk - I actually spoke with them directly and told them what I was hoping to build and they made me up a list and selection of plants they thought would work - amazing service. Here’s a phot of the list of what I got and...

    180Litre community tank progress

Progress on my 180Litre (47 us gal) scape! Plants and fish are all doing so well, really happy with how the tank has evolved over the last few months. Plant growth has been crazy, I’m always cutting back plenty despite not using any high tech co2. water is soft and kept at around 7ph and 75-76...

    Ideas for this nano tank?

Thankyou Wills! I’ll be honest I have not heard about these cichlids before! After just looking them up they have some incredible colour patterns and are a an usual shape too! Definitely a fish with character! Ill do some more research on them!

    Ideas for this nano tank?

I hadn’t thought about a group of imbellis but that could be really nice! A lot of colour and personality too. Yeah I would definitely have to remove them if I were to get a puffer. Probably most hassle than it’s worth haha

    Ideas for this nano tank?

Hey guys. My old 15gal long (when fully filled) is currently just a red cherry shrimp colony. It’s a pretty basic driftwood scape with Christmas moss, anubias and some rotala in the background that I’m hoping will eventually break the surface and grow emmersed. (Excuse the algae and general...

    130Litre Cichlid or Shellies?

Thanks so much Wills, I will definitely have a look at these and do some more research. I’m never in a rush to start something like this and would only want them if I was 100% sure so thankyou for your advice and the alternatives too.

    130Litre Cichlid or Shellies?

Hey guys, I’ve been looking at getting myself a 130L long tank - dimensions 90cm x 36 x 45. I’ve a couple of planted tanks with, tetras, rasbora, cories, and some south American cichlids but I’ve wanted something abit different, ideally just rocks and sand substrate and since marine tanks look...

    Tips for emmersed growth?

Hey guys, a wee while ago I cut back and planted replanted the cutoffs of a bunch of rotala rotundifolia from my main tank into my smaller shallow tank, and it’s doing great. My main hope was that because it’s a shallow tank, that the rotala will grow out of the water and have some great emerges...

    One month on!

Yeah that was one thing I was worried about - the tank is small enough and if I keep it half full like it currently is it would get overstocked pretty quickly. Livebearers would be an issue for that if i got some males too. And I wouldn’t want to be constantly trying to sell the Juvis, or use...
