Thank you I woke up to a lovely clear tank, amazing what a good canister clean will do, will give it a few days to pick up anything stray and then give it another good clean and it should be good then

Mine is in fairly hard water. Havent tried him with smaller fish, next time i get some feeders i'll drop some in and get back to you on that lol

They are pretty chill for a large cichlid. Severus lived with goldfish for a while, Now he is living with a platinum gourami pair and a black ghost knife and he really couldnt care less lol

This tank has been sitting here empty for quite a while, so i moved the sev, the platinum gourami pair, some apple snails and the BGK into it. Severus must approve as i think i have seen move of him today than i have in the last few months lol

I clean all my filters under running tap water, blasts the crud out of them far better

Pygmy beardie will be ok in the size i have, a regular size as stated above i would prolly build a melamine enclosure. I realise what they need, i do a lot of research prior to buying anything. No excuse not to with the internet around.   I really am leaning towards a snake though.

I like the look of the Stimpson python, the Spotted python & Banded Pygmy. It would just depend what is available locally when i am ready (need to apply for a license and get a few things yet)   Just measured the enclosure...its 61x61x74cm, which is large enough for all the snakes i mentioned  ...

Childrens pythons are recommended here as beginner snakes. They can be a bit snappy when young, but settle when mature. I was told a childrens python or a beaded will be ok in the enclosure, the only thing is, the beaded will require exercise or out of cage time, i am hoping to harness train if...

One should NOT drop into the pet store for a look. I ended up buying a reptile enclosure, it was nearly half price lol Now i wasnt intending on getting a reptile or amphibian, but i guess i am now. So now need to organize a license first, then decide what kinda critter im gonna get...

Planted tank tubes tend to be changed every 6 - 12 months.   Fish only, usually when they blow

Gave the 4ft planted tank a slight rescape. Still clearing, which i have been waiting for so i can see to add some more plants in. So not completely finished, but this gives an idea of it

I have 5 breeding pairs of bn in a 55gal tank, have no issues with aggression. 1 pair was recently added.  I would have no qualms whatsoever of adding in males or females to a tank that already has BN in it

If that were me all those fish would be in the 200L and i would have the 620T to do with as i wish

I breed peppermint bristlenose, these guys pay for all my 20 tanks and fish needs.....tis great

Sev has moved......and not in this pic are his tank mates, 2 goldies. Made him show himself more.....the goldies are not permanent, they will stay until i can find something else to put in with him

  As i stated personality of individual bettas. Mine do no probs with a clear divider, not in the least stressed. If they do seem stressed just change to a non-clear divider....problem solved

5gal is plenty for a betta....2.5gal per fish is usually the recommended on many betta forums.   A clear divider may work, but it depends a lot on the personality of the bettas. (i have a tank with 2 betta in it that the divider they can see each other). A non clear divider would be a preferable...

I have pieces here that are 10+ yrs and have changed very little to not at all since original
