Java moss can be a funny plant from my experience, sometimes it'll grow like there's no tomorrow and sometimes it'll just do nothing :lol: I've had it go brown and nasty in tanks but had a pot of the stuff on my window and although it hasn't really grown it's stayed a nice healthy green.

Will be following this as my roma 90 is due a new scape and i'm all out of idea's. Not sure on the background myself but it's hard to tell without something in there. Oh yeah, i've got a roma 240 and 90 upstairs, slightly different walls and had no problems yet.

Big feed last night seems to have done the job, all fish here this morning and the 'stalking' has also stopped - hopefully it'll stay this way. Going to move all the java fern and anubias nana from my 90L into this tank sometime this week.

Woke up this morning to see a fish hanging out of the terrors mouth :sad: then another fish dead behind the wood. Guessing it was due to hunger, he hadn't been fed for a few days as i knew adding 12 fish would spike the ammonia little. Going to do a large water change today and a big feed...

I'm prob just going to go crazy with java ferns and anubias nana around the wood and stones for this tank and keep it simple as my plant focus is on the 90L :fun: Here's the pictures of how it's standing today - the rosy tetra have only been in a few hours; TEETH!! :X

Added a big piece of java fern towards the back and a piece of wood with loads of java fern roots towards the front, looks little rough but should grow in well. Also added 12 rosy tetra and 1 black widow (was in the bag) today, few close calls on the terror munching them, he's still stalking...

UPDATE: Alternanthera Rosaefolia is pretty much dead, was going to pull the full tank up today and re-scape BUT looks like my apisto might have spawned under the wood :hey: - never seen signs like this from them before :hyper:

You're making hard work out of something so simple imo, i've had my filter sitting for hours empty before and never had a problem. Rinsing your media to sit it back into dirty water? seen as when i empty my filters there's alot of gunk sitting in the bottom of the water and not actually the...

Don't you put the filter back together empty so they wouldn't float? :unsure: I'm running ex700 and never had this issue; remove all baskets rinse media in the water sitting in the filter canister (a bucket of drained tank water for a better clean) empty water out of the filter canister baskets...

One day, i'll get to that stage :lol:, looks good. +1 for the rocks from Aqua essentials, got myself some a while back and got alot more then i thought. If you get some fugly pieces just take a hammer to it and it'll make some nicer pieces :P

Not much to update but here's 2 half decent pictures of the green terror, his 'lump' on the head has gone down alot since the move but hopefully it'll come back when he's settled in more;

I'm not too good with stocking either, you could try a tanganyika setup? something to look into - something i want to do eventually :fun:.

Hook a T piece on the filter intake hose just above the filter itself with an on/off 'switch', connect hosepipe and drain to refill hook the hosepipe up to the tap and the water will go out of the intake filter pipe - wont be as quick as the water pump but you wont even have to get wet hands...

Tbh i've not a clue with ferts, bought a bottle once when my light unit blew to help the plants but i didn't really know what i was doing :fun:. So you've been pointed my mr miyagi, what ferts do i buy? :lol:

Wood tannins can be good for fish although i do agree it doesn't look pretty as i've just turned 1 of my tanks into a black cup of tea :fun:. More frequent water changes will remove it, eventually the wood should stop releasing tannins into the water. seachem purigen might help remove tannins...

LOL yeah, i fed brineshrimp once and almost ended up with a terror on the floor he paniced so much he ended up hiding under powerhead so no shrimp came close :blink: - had to feed very small amounts for the females after that. I'm so proud of myself, took the krib back today and came home with...

Trip to the LFS delayed so had to release the kribensis back into the tank, felt bad enough netting him for so long i couldn't go any longer. Terror once again is been pushed around instantly from releasing him (nothing serious though). Interesting to watch really, krib goes for terror so shark...

Built this CO2 system REAL slow, seems to be holding fine but i'm out of sugar :sad:. Just been having a good clean out of this tank and noticed some of the alder cones are growing leafs and roots off them? :unsure: CAN I GROW A TREE IN MY TANK? :fun:
