Yes I will fix annubius. They are the ones on the corners. Do you think I should raise ammonia to 1ppm or higher?

Yes, I have removed that plant it was a white ribbon. I have 4 bacopa plants, 4 hornwart, 2 amazon sword, 3 annubius nana, and some duckweed along the top.

Tested tank again today: ammonia: .5ppm nitrate: 5ppm nitrite: 5-10ppm pH: 8 Do I dose more ammonia or do I leave it as is?

Plants are in! Background still will be here sometime this weekend early next week.

Today’s Test Results: ammonia: around 1.5 ppm (it was in between 1 and 2ppm) nitrite: around 5ppm (may be higher) nitrate: 10-15 ppm pH: 8.2 Plants should be here tomorrow, I’ll post pictures once I get them in. Background should be here sometime this weekend or early next week.

Oh yes, no living creatures in there currently. I was looking into getting some livebearers and from what I read they naturally like harder water.

I will also be posting an update photo of the tank soon, I’ve put a lot more plants in it. Here’s what I got: 4 Hornwort 3 anubias nana 1/4 lb duckweed 2 amazon sword 4 bacopa I also have a background that is coming soon. It’s a plain black one that is a reversible blue.

Hello once again! I have very soft water (not really sure why) that comes out of my tap. I was interested in getting some platies, guppies, or mollies (not quite sure yet) and I’ve read that they all need harder waters. Is there anyway to make the gH of water go up? Thanks :)

Okay, did you get any form of ammonia into the tank? If not your tank most likely never did a fishless cycle. You are now technically doing a fish-in cycle. For a fish in cycle there are several threads on here that can help, most are found under cycling your tank. I don’t know much about fish...
