I had a common plec like that a few years ago.... We called him "sir Poo's alot" :lol: 1 of his Poo's actually measured to over 6foot!

Some nice wood would look good. Weather its bog wood or red moor or something. Or for a cheaper alternative you could just get a bunch of tall plants like valli's or something.

You could put the sand in a big bucket, run a hose into the bottom of it and leave it to run for a while. This should flush all the crud out the sand :good:

I kept the 2 together for a while a few years ago and the Oscar ate the shark. My Oscar was arould the 7" mark though and the shark 4".

What about upping the number of tiger barbs to 10, and swap the loaches for smaller bottom fish like cories? That way you could easily have a good amount of both barbs and cory. And the bn will be fine what ever you choose :good:

What about dropping in a few at different parts of the tank? Or break 1 up and deliberately feed that to the angel and then drop the other in once he/she is occupied? G

Swordtails are awesome when fish get into adulthood. Just a pitty I keep tiger barbs or I would get a few in my tank. An angel fish would be a good starter. They don't get mega big (like say oscars do) and as long as you do a regular water change, there very easy to keep and look great.

I would 1st up the number of corys to about 8 and you will see them at their best :good: Your tank is certainly big enough, ever thought about going down the cichlid route? Severum are nice and colourful, and pretty easy to keep. Gold 1s would brighten up ANY tank.

Yes, as techen says, I would use boiling water too. Just to be safe and if anything else, give you peace of mind that its done properly :good:

I'm looking for something for the top of my tank as its looking pretty empty. I have 2 severum, 2 firemouth, 1 red tail shark and 10 tiger barbs. I would quite like some kind of shole fish for the top if possible. Any suggestions?

What you thinking of keeping this time? I nearly gave up recently too to be honest. Had a planted Discus community tank but it was a pain. I went from keeping Severum, Bichir's and barbs to that tank... bad idea. Ive now went back to keeping easier Cichlids again and its totally re-sparked the...
