Can't say for sure about pictus, bit iv kept severum and angel fish before for years and they were absolutely fine together. A lone sev would be fine, I bought 3, years ago, 2 of which paired up, and then tormented the other 1 to death..... literally! But I have a friend who keeps them, and he...

Just some hot water and a bit of elbow grease should do the trick :lol: In failing that, you could always water down some pure bleach and use that. Just make sure its COMPLETELY washed out before adding any fish. And make sure it only bleach you use. If you check for ingredients, of should...

I personally would go for a fishless cycle. These things might help it along, but at least you know if you take the time do do it properly, it'll be a safe cycle. But, having never actually tried it that way, I wouldn't know. Fear of watching fish die 1 by 1 of "new tank syndrome" is enough for me.

Picture would make this a bit easier :lol:

You could always take all the rocks out, let them dry and use some aquarium friendly silicone to glue them together. I have a friend that made a cool looking slate wall doing this. G

Yip! Me too.. totally convinced! I just ordered a bunch of plants yesterday, so once they arrive, i'll be doing a bit of scaping, and a bit of painting too!

Just post a picture in the 'monthly comps' section with a bit of paper on front of the tank with the date, and a full tank shot too.

Black gloss. Great idea! And you won't even see the streaks by the gloss (if your as good at glossing as I am), because the streaks will be on the outside. Genius! Sheer genius! Edit... Nice tank too salam, looks great :good:

+1 I made the mistake of getting a grey rocky looking backdrop on my tank, now I can't wait to pay day to get a nice plain black backdrop. Fish and plants will look so much better. Edit... Spelling
