Where are all the fire belly toads?

If I go to the next one in May and see some fire bellies I'll get the breeder's info and send it to you, if you want.

Where are all the fire belly toads?

If you can get to a Reptile Show/Expo you might find a breeder selling some (amphibians are often sold there). For instance, in Columbus we have the Ohio Reptile Show once a month & there are lots of breeders with atypical animals (such as sugar gliders, baby skunks & lots of various reptiles...

Any opinions on Asian Stone Catfish (Hara jerdoni)?

I was wondering if anyone has kept Asian Stone Catfish (Hara jerdoni) and, if so, how much do you like them. I'm considering getting four. Thanks.

    Female Betta with Tank mates

I had my female betta ("Angel") in a 40 gallon community tank. She was very happy in there. She had been with those fish since she was a baby betta under an inch long. I never saw any aggression from her - in fact, she seemed extremely peaceful. However, every now and then I would have one...

    Low Tech Carpeting Plant

I've seen some plant sites that say low light set-ups will cause the plant to grow vertically & that you need higher light to create horizontal growth. I don't know. I'm not that good with plants.

    Badger's Tea Garden

That's excellent. Waterfalls are always a popular feature in poison dart frog vivs, but many people have problems & the equipment is usually inaccesible or hard to access. Basically, plenty of dart frog vivs have waterfall features that don't work, but you've solved that problem!

I have the same problem OP. Mine don't carpet, more like "flying carpet". They grow straight up and don't spread horizontally. I think it's lack of strong light.

    What are you doing today?

I was just reflecting on our games when we were both bachelors, which usually ended around 4am. Love your paratrooper mod. We also added our own mods. It's the perfect game for us because I usually lose and my friend is a sore loser.

    What are you doing today?

A friend of mine and I have played A&A for about 25 years. Twenty years ago he made a hand-painted board the size of a dining room table. For his 50th birthday I hand-painted about 600 A&A pieces. Here's a small sampling (in retrospect, I wish I had taken close-ups).

Are Pethia Gelius and Pethia Gelius Dwarf two different types of fish?

Great information from both of you, thank you. The Latin name on the order matches the fish I intended to buy. I was initially concerned for two reasons: 1. The common name from the seller was "Gold Clown Barb" - which is a different species. I didn't notice the common name until I saw the...

What a great life your bird has. I wanted to get a bird, but I would feel bad if they were trapped in a cage all day. As the comdeian Brian Regan says about birds in cages: "Gee, thanks, I appreciate the environment. I know how to fly, I'M STANDING ON A STICK!"

    Unpopular Opinions (fish related)

I don't use artifical plants & I try to create a natural looking tank. I've been snobbish towards day-glo gravel/plastic plants, but @wasmewasntit makes an EXCELLENT point. He's made me rethink my beliefs.

    Not my cup of tea

I personally like it a lot. I have the opposite problem: I try to make wild, natural scapes and they come out looking cohesive. Symmetry could be one way of making it look cohesive - or perhaps tighter grouping of plants.

    Neon Tetras Fighting

Byron is an expert, so his opinion carries more weight, but I would personally return them to the LFS. Since the neons behavior is environmental (not enough fish) rather than physiological, it should improve when they are in a large school. I've never heard of this. Is this from a scientific...

I boil the driftwood for around an hour. Then I soak it in a sink with the hottest water possible - draining and refilling every few hours. It usually takes 2-3 days to get all the tanins out. I can't speak to safe glue - I just use fishing line to tie moss around driftwood until it attaches...

Please give your suggestions...easiest (non-livebearer) fish to spawn

I have a species tank of scarlet badis and they breed a lot. Females are extremely hard to find anywhere. I had 2 in the beginning, but now have 5 when fry grew up. So, if you are able to get some females, they breed easily and without induction or interference.
