375litre - lighting and filter recommendation

Hi all! I will soon be upgrading my 145litre tank running Fluval 307 to a 375 litre tank. I would appreciate some recommendations in external filter and lighting. For filter I am pretty much settle on Oase Bio master 600 Thermo. Not too sure about the light though. Leaning towards Fluval...

Neon tetra swimming face up :(

Sorry that was picture of the white film on the surface video below. Looks pretty active but swimming head up and seem to be tilted to the left.

Neon tetra swimming face up :(

I have lost a neon tetra two weeks ago, it was swimming with head upwards and gasping for air at the surface to I euthanised it. Today I've noticed another neon tetra swimming the same way, although this one looks more active. Colour is normal and I don't notice any inflamation. At the moment it...

    Tetra Nitrateminus

Already doing that :) Weekly 50% water change and monthly filter maintenance (tear down, clean pipes, media etc). Also have various live plants in my tank. Ideally I would like my Nitrate levels to be around 10ppm but I don’t think that is possible considering my tap water levels. Tempted by the...

Tried GW many years ago but can’t really gel with it. Feels a bit like Final Fantasy / Monster Hunter world which I can’t really get into. I prefer the options WoW provides. Is it worth giving GW2 a look?

    Tetra Nitrateminus

Anyone use this to control Nitrate levels in freshwater tank? My tap water nitrate levels are a little high (16ppm) and Nitrate level in my tank is around 40ppm (it’s very hard to tell accurately using API master kit) Noticed a product called Tetra Nitrateminus and it has good reviews on Amazon.

What’s wrong with my Panda Corydoras:(

Thanks @Colin_T. Sadly the fish passed away yesterday. I don’t notice any signs of infection other than the fin rot. The other two remaining Panda Corydoras seem to be doing well.

    Can someone ID this plant?

Thanks. Think the other plant is also an Amazon Sword but the leaf looks different. Will it be ok for the roots to be exposed or do I have to bury them? Apologies not really good with plants ...

    Can someone ID this plant?

I’ve bought this some time ago and can’t remember what it’s called. It’s basically now just sitting in top of the substrate with the roots sticking upwards. Will this be ok? Growth wise it’s doing ok, but not as good as it’s neighbour in the second picture. Does this plant requires lots of light?

What’s wrong with my Panda Corydoras:(

So the fish is still moving but not eating much. Noticed the fins are rotting away. Will it be more humane to consider euthanasia @Colin_T ?

Not looking good for poor Cory... she seems to be only moving at the bottom of the tank and likes hiding. :(

What’s wrong with my Panda Corydoras:(

Ok thanks. She still looks lively albeit floating around so I'll keep at eye out. Hopefully she gets better soon.

What’s wrong with my Panda Corydoras:(

Thanks. Doesn’t sound too bad then, phew... Would skipping feeding a day help? I don’t have any frozen fish food at hand.

What’s wrong with my Panda Corydoras:(

Noticed one of the panda Cory seem to be swimming oddly this evening. Can’t seem to control buoyancy. It’s still moving around and seem to be feeding. Just tested the water and the parameters are fine. 0 Ammonia and Nitrite and around 25ppm Nitrate. Video below , anyone know what’s wrong?

    Brown algae

There’s thin milky layer on the surface but I’ve used some kitchen roll to absorb it. I’ve increased light intensity and duration as I’ve added new plant. Perhaps I need to cut it back down.

    Brown algae

I've always had issue with brown algae in my tank but past 2 weeks or so things seemed to have improved. However today I noticed that the brown algae is coming back. Only difference is that I've possibly fed more than usual. Would this cause the brown algae? There is also a slightly...

NV6 is greyed out for the Free Trial unfortunately, perhaps PAYG is required to unlock. Oh well :) Your 56p per hour sounds awesome for the spec. I've only done about 5 minutes (doing speedtest mostly) and according the credits deducted that cost about 2p.

Awesome, cheers for the config info. I’ll give it a go tonight. I have Yahoo email which allows disposable emails . I have Stadia to check out gaming via streaming but to be honest it’s pretty laggy. Did you experience any lag while gaming? I’m guessing you are using RDP? If Azure VMs work...

    Snow white ancistrus

Thanks, due to the lockdown I’ll most probably source it online. Not many LFS around me that sells driftwood. I’ll do more research and decide. The Snow White is so cute though :)

    Snow white ancistrus

Link below is where I saw the fish (UK). Looks like the fish have long-ish fins, I would say similar to my peppered corydoras. The barbs leave them alone though. I saw a video and they are sooooo cute. https://www.tropco.co.uk/snow-white-ancistrus-3cm-4cm-p-3987.html

    Snow white ancistrus

Thanks for the reply, I’m just thinking about it and want to ensure my tank is suitable before committing. It’s rare to find Snow Whites and it reflects in the price :) I’m thinking if single female, will that be fine? I have no experience with driftwood so will need to do some research. What...

    Snow white ancistrus

Saw this rare breed and immediatly fell in love. I'm thinking of getting just one but now sure if my tank is big enough. It's about 32" long and 15" wide (about 38 US Gal). I think they grow to about 8"? I also don't have any driftwood in the tank, although it's a planted tank with swords and...
