I have a 6 gallon and right now there are 7 red cherry shrimp, one Amano shrimp, one nerite snail. One of the rcs is berried so hopefully babies soon. I never get overrun for some weird reason. I usually have a few ember tetra but I’ve never seen them bother the shrimp…not even the babies...

Yes it was 6 years of not really digging into the substrate (other than stirring around the top of it for water changes. So...it was horrendous. I can't even believe I found all of my shrimp in that. I can't believe they survived "breathing" that in!!!!!!!!! I felt awful.

I've never had luck with plants in my little fluval edge 6 gallon. Just stock lighting, maybe that's why? Plus I have super acidic water. So anubias species are the only things that seem to do well for me. So I use a lot of wood to fill space.

They’re more active than most fish. They’re the busiest little creatures and when they have eggs, it’s really fun to watch them turn into the tiniest babies ever. The only fish I’ve been able to keep with them completely peacefully have been ember tetras. They completely ignore each other...
