Thanks for taking the time to reply, but I can assure you that they are nibbling on the plants. I took the picture above while watching the gourami pick at that anubias. Mainly, they really love the roots of the water spangles. I'll think about leaving more algae on the glass, but I'm afraid...

Cool! I'm putting some polishing media in, so should that go at the bottom, middle or top? Although I do a pretty good job keeping the tank clean, the corys sure do stir up stuff into the water. :(

I have a feeling it sucked up some spangles when I took the pre-filter off to clean it. Argh I also run a 20 gal Aquarium co-op sponge filter in there, and I am so glad I do. I turned the air up, so at least my fish are getting some water movement.

You can also continually spray the plants. If you want them to dry overnight, make a terrarium setup with large ziplock bags. Spray copiously before closing. This worked well for me.

I have 11 ember tetras and they're doing great with honey gouramis, and I'm thinking of adding some, as well. :)

The snail had been attached to the glass, let go of the glass, was floating in the water, and then the ram attacked it so fast I thought I was watching a tv show. LOL He just ripped the snail right out of the shell. Well, I guess that's why I don't have a snail infestation. :)
