A monthly deep clean for me is moving some of the decor, being super thorough with vacuuming the gravel/sand, and changing 50% or more of the water. I also take the chance to wipe down the glass, inside and out. Every 2-3 months I like to rinse out the filter media in the old tank water as well.

I think it would be a good idea to treat all the fish for internal parasites. Prazipro should do the job if you can find any in the store. It's pretty cheap for the amount of water it treats. It won't harm your cycle either, just remember to remove the active carbon so the meds can do their job.

This could be simple spawning activity or bullying. Are fins being nipped, certain fish constantly being chased and forced to hide? Are the bullied fish get pushed to the corners of the tank and are they staying at the surface? Can you try taking a video of the chasing and post it here?

I don't really know how long it takes for them to reach their full size. Once it reaches 3-4 inches you should really think about moving it to the 55 then. The sooner the better. The only think you can do is try it out to see if the gourami can get along with the tetras.

What is your lighting like? If the lighting is not strong enough then many of the plants you have listed will slowly die off. I think anubias are pretty fool proof and they look lovely with their rich green leaves and depending on species, they can be large or small. Just remember to plant them...
