    Harlequin rasbora die off

Hi, I don't know whether this would be classed as an emergency because I've just about given up! Bought 15 harlequins from lfs on the 15/7 to bump up my school of 6. Put them straight into 20l qt which I've kept cycled. As of now I'm down to 3, and have more grey hairs to show for it. Harlies...

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

Also the wafers targeted towards bottom feeders, they tend to last for the corys as the other fish can only nip at them till they get soft. And semantics aside, corys will eat leftovers, mine love the daphnia, bloodworms, spirulina flakes etc that the other fish have either missed or left. Just...

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

Hi, not really a staple but my cory's love mosquito larvae. Never seen them move so fast!

    a “quick” emotional vent

None of that has anything to do with medical marijuana. It doesn't have the same effect as what you are talking about. A simple google search will tell you that. The breakthroughs on the science of it are incredible, nothing to do with "potheads" and "stoned 14 year olds". It doesn't get you...

Hi and welcome! It's all a learning curve isn't it?

    a “quick” emotional vent

So Lemon, you are 14? Am I reading that right? Medical marijuana is not age regulated and does not have the same effects of "regular" marijuana. It is all about the medical benefits rather than the "social" ones. I don't know your regulations in the states, but here in Aus we are finally looking...

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

It looks like you have happy corys there! My plan for new tank is 180l with sand substrate, planted, and thinking 10 or so pygmy corys, same of harlequin rasboras and four honey gourami. What do you think?

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

Great thanks, that helps. I really love the character of the pygmys, as I do the bronzes.

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

Ok....So if I get the pygmys it would be a good idea to get some bottom feeders also? I have bronze corys in my first tank, I feed them dedicated wafers etc, and they also eat the leftovers. And I have a excellent lfs, have to travel for it but it's worth it, so I'm able to get what I want.

    a “quick” emotional vent

Lemon, I've only been on here such a short time but you were, I think, the first to welcome me. It's such a rotten thing for you to be going through and the hospital system really sucks sometimes. Some really wonderful doctors and nurses, but so hard to be "heard" a lot of the time. Have any of...

    Pygmy corys and "cleaning" substrate

Hi all, Love corys but have never had the pygmy corys. Will they clean up uneaten food from the substrate? All the info on them says they like to keep to the mid of tank. I can't find anything on where and how they feed. Any help gratefully received!!

    How many honey gourami?

Oh, you've had a run of bad luck! I'd love a dollar for all the hours I've spent researching this addictive and sometimes very frustrating hobby! But I love it, and it's also very good for getting rid of any excess money I have.... Thanks for your answer, think I'll try the honeys, yours sounds...

    How many honey gourami?

Hi, was wondering how you went with this combination? I'm thinking of doing much the same except with pygmy corys. Spoke to lfs and he had horror stories about honey gouramis munching on anything smaller, as in the rasboras. So much conflicting opinions around!

Hi, newbie to the forum here

True! I'm very protective of the frogs and their spawn tho, and the blue eyes and rainbows have been the best for that. White Clouds are "suppose" to leave frog spawn alone, but only when they have a full belly of them.... And as to spraying 'round up" willy nilly around the place, can not...

Hi, newbie to the forum here

Thanks! Crimson spotted rainbows and just the plain blue eyes, tho it's hard to tell really. Being in the ponds I can only spot the fry, and that's only till they get wary of anything lurking. But they do an admirable job with the wrigglers. As for frogs, green tree frogs, striped marsh frogs...

Hi, newbie to the forum here

Now wouldn't that be something! Definitely have the neighbours guessing running from pond to pond chasing them. I chose the rainbows and blue eyes as they leave the frog spawn and tadpoles alone, love the frogs. Tho can get pretty noisy on summer nights when they're all feeling friendly. Thanks...

Hi, newbie to the forum here

Have been searching through all your knowledge here for a while and decided it was time to join. I live on the mid north coast of NSW, Aus, and started this very addictive hobby at the beginning of the year. Have had lots of ponds of differing sizes for years, with rainbow fish and Pacific blue...
