i know i am late to the party but i would recomend a tank of 90x40x30cm at the veary least, as a filter i would recomend making a river manifold to provide the strong unilateral flow they like, the manifold should move the whole water volume about 10-15 times every hour. i would use a heavy...
well, they like soft waters but RO is 0ppm and at the very least they should have 18 ppm but in theory the sand and rocks would release some calcium carbonate so, yes use 100% RO water.
use twigs of the same type of wood that you will use, and if you do not have a wood yet i would recomend manzanita, since it is quite alge resistant and releases a good and steady amount of tannins. About the CO2 i really like this system: . I really recomend it, the video explains it better...
oh i did not know that, i have only had a three spot gourami and a chocolate gourami and both where quite the bullies. About the scape i would put the stones right next to each other in the far left corner and the wood coming down from them so it looks like the tree roots on a peat swamp (their...
i thought you were asking for stock ideas before reading the whole thing and i was about to recomend boraras brigittae but knowing that you will put a shcool of them makes me think that it will be a good aquarium. The only thing i do not like is the peat because it is unsustainable to harvest...
well i am from the west side of mexico so most of the goodeids in the aquarium trade come from here and thus are not as rare as in the us, pretty cool tho.
both barbs and white clouds are egg scatteres right?. In that case i think that bushy plants like rotala, najas guadalupensis, java moss, flame moss ,christmas moss, cabomba and pearlweed would work the best at protecting the eggs and fry. Is that right?
i do not have the tank yet but i can acomodate something as long as 1 meter and as wide as 40 cm, so almos any 30 gallon will work for me, for the parameters i have a Ph of 7-7.6, a Gh of 300 ppm and a Kh of 80 to 100 ppm. So any ideas for fish? thanks :)
well
well 10 gallons is a real tank, a nano tank but a real tank, you can keep plants and some nice animals like bettas, guppys, shrimp, dwarf crayfish, scarlet badis, snails, otocinclus, etc.
Hey there. I want to know your ideas on what i can keep in a 30 gallon that is interesting, i would prefer something that is a species only and breedable, but i am ok with non breedable and community tanks, thanks for any input.
here is the update. It worked great!, i washed it with boiling water and biodegradable dish soap, i added some najas guadalupensis and my fry were so happy. I must say tho, if u want to do something similar i will recomend a new one, and to glue something to make it more buoyant because i had...
Hi there, so i bought 2 golden otos and as i was getting them ready to go in to their tank i noticed one of them had a ball under its skin. I think it's a tumor. If not, what is it? And does it have a cure or a way to shrink it?
Hi. So i have been using my aquarium net as a breeder net for some time now (like 2 generations of fry) but i end up needing my net for other things so i decided to try and make my own breeder net. luckly i remembered that i had an old reusable coffe filter and some other things to make the net...
yeah my water is quite hard. I live in guadalajara jalisco in mexico and our water supply comes from rio verde and the chapala lake which is fed mainly by the lerma river, a river that is born in the mountains of central mexico thus carrying a lot of minerals in its way down
Hello. So i had 1 male and 2 female cherry shrimps in a 2 gallon planted and cycled aquarium yesterday they where fine and eating and today they all woke up dead, why could this be?
