I'm not going to win any aquascaping contests, and my fish were very unimpressed when I upended their world, but I'm a lot happier with this. Got rid of the whole drystone dyke thing, and made my rocks look far more natural. It will get a background on Wednesday, so watch this space.

I'll try to remember to post one tomorrow, as it's 0145 and the tank is dark. :) The aquascaping on the tank in question is purely functional (lots of plants and breaking up apisto territories), not pretty, so I'm always a bit mortified posting photos of it.

They don't have tons of pleco species, sadly. No L199s (obviously not... it's pretty obscure). But they have a 24" zebra pleco, which is close enough, lol. I haven't bought it yet, but it is only a matter of time.

I would love those big plecos, like L200 or royal plecs, but I have no space. I would need another 240L or so tank.

The idea behind the big rocks on the left was constructing a cave for the vampire shrimp, facing the little powerhead, but as you can see, they've moved into a couple of the pleco caves and prefer the current from the big powerhead.

I've been trying to 'scape my 125L and I'm not achieving what I want. Trying to make something resembling a rocky river bottom. This is the tank. I don't like how I've configured the rocks on the right side. The aircraft carrier has to stay, because the plecos love hiding in it, and hey...

A bristlenose in 7.6 gallons? Would it deal with that? My otos-in-tiny-tank experience wasn't encouraging. The fact that three of them lived to tell the tale is amazing. I'm not doing that again.

I've had nerites and rabbit snails, and they don't do great with soft, acidic water. What else would work? I can't do conversions. The fry are in a tank which is 29L or 7.6 US g.

So, it should be fine. In theory. Do people maintain permanent fry tanks by keeping something that won't eat fry or eggs in there all the time? Is that even a thing?
