    Dry start with staugoryne repens?

Hey guys! I recently started a new project with my 4ftx18"x18". It's a dry start with weeping moss so far. The tank will be dirted, low tech. I'm currently looking at my options, I'm thinking of 4 angels 3 golden gouramis 8-12 congo tetras and a few bristlenose. For plants, I'm planning on...

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

Oh, yup. That's why we don't have any🤣. Though, the scariest thing to me about fish TB is that it's hard to identify and drug resistant... Also the fact that fish could pretty much be asymptomatic...

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

Hahaha, that's great to hear. Still, I've always had a fear of some sort of disease that I could get from fish, never thought there would actually be one

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

Oh I see, that's pretty scary... What's some warning signs/symptoms in fish/humans? I always have my hands dipped in my aquariums so... (nevermind, I just read the thread on TB. Hope you're doing better though) Anyways, new fear unlocked I guess

    Oh alright, thanks y'all!

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

    Alright, thanks! What's fish tuberculosis?

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

Ohh I see. Might just sell these off or give them away then. I'm planning on making a rainbow Fish community with different species, what do you think? Is there anything to look out for? Specifics like what species I should and shouldn't mix together? So far I'm looking at Blue, Parkingsoni...

    Rainbow Fish Identification?

I've had these rainbows for a while, just kept them in the side and only remembered them just now. I saw them and was blown away, they had way more color than they used to. Back then someone here told me they were hybrids, but maybe the colored up versions would change something. Supposedly...

    What are you doing today?

Fair. Thinking about it, it's pretty much pure protein, so it might be healthy?:flex:😂

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

Here's an update to the tank! Added the bromeliad and a fern I found growing in our garden.

    What are you doing today?

What I'm doing today is laughing at my brother who took my frozen bloodworms thinking it was chocolate🤣

    Show me your cube tanks!!

How old is that tank? I'm interested in using microswords. But they seem to take a while to carpet in low tech, also in lines like yours
  17. Jacob the tank keeper

    Show me your cube tanks!!

Woah! Nice! You have one impressive tank. You saying that makes it even more impressive. How do you even do that?
  18. Jacob the tank keeper

    Show me your cube tanks!!

Daym! That looks good. Is that a high tech? Are those stem plants at the back of the second pic hornwort?

    Show me your cube tanks!!

I'll be showing off my cube tank here when I get to set it up!

damn! How I wish to have anubias this huge. Just takes time right??

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

Oh, I see. I think a fogger might look good in this tank tho, maybe I'd try that out. Maybe a mini fogger if those exists... From what I've heard some bromeliads can and some can't live well without soil...

Ohh I see, thanks! It really takes a while to grow them large, eh?

Thanks! How do I bind them? Do I use some thread or something, like how we do it with aquatic moss?

I see! They're fine without substrate right? I'll get to it.

Those are some nice tanks! What type of anubias is that? I like how simple this is, That's just a single Java fern pad right? Those are easily accessible here

these are the Bromeliads and other plants I have! Pardon the dirt. Do you think any of these would work?

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

Hm, it's a bit difficult to get a filter going, so this is probably what I'm going for. It's not much maintenance, it being a small tank and I think it might be similar to like, a spring, where water keeps getting replaced. Thanks! Actually, I do know about that. I think you also mix it with...

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

I decided to try adding some pothos and bamboo, I'm not sure if I like it much, I might remove some floaters. I'm not sure if I should keep it or not, but pothos would probably help a lot with algae control

    Show me your cube tanks!!

That's part of why I prefer smaller tanks, it's so damn tiring to do a waterchange in a 4th tank! I can only imagine what it would be like for those with 100 gallon tanks.
  33. Jacob the tank keeper

    Show me your cube tanks!!

ohh, that's pretty similar to mine, I don't have an exact cube but a 12x12x14, so it's kinda tall.
  34. Jacob the tank keeper

    Show me your cube tanks!!

Ohh, great job at hiding it! I really didn't expect it to be hightech, I was wondering how you were able to keep all those rotalas like that. Been struggling with them
  35. Jacob the tank keeper

    Show me your cube tanks!!

Ohh! I can only count 8 species 😆, I just read your TOTM entry, how's your DIY CO2 going? Do you not have a checker thing? I've heard those things can be REALLY unreliable. Where's your diffuser too? Sorry for all the questions, I've also been meaning to try it out for a while😅

🐡 FOTM Aquabarb - December 2023 Fish of the Month Winner (Cichlids)

Congrats! This single fish has made me want to get electric blue acaras, I never understood all the hype until I scrolled down all the way and was blown away by this! Nice!

    Show me your cube tanks!!

I have 2 cube tanks I'm hoping to rescape soon, I've been told cubes are the hardest to work with, and it really is proving to be hard. I'm looking for inspiration! Anything would be appreciated

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

Oh right! Here are some specs of the tank ~ Filter: Filterless, with how shallow the tank is, sponge filters certainly won't work, I'm unsure of what filter I should use. It's either I make a mini homemade sump or just do a lot of water changes (which shouldn't be hard) I'm thinking of just...

Trying something new - Low-tech Nano tank

All my aquariums have relatively been the same dirted style. I was told before that I should know the basics and chemistry of an aquarium before moving onto aqua-scaping (the reason being, scaped tanks are apparently harder to maintain and keep, so knowing those beforehand would be really...
