    Introducing plants

I'm currently working on my new tank, I'm planning on half filling it, as I first want to put in plants, would they survive without heating, or would the heating g have to be on? As later I'm planning on using Goop then adding fish, so was going to put the heating on later.

    Filter cleaning

When you clean your filter sponges in tank water do you squeeze the sponges, if you do does this not release the bacteria. Or do you just swish them in the water.

    Stocking question

I've only got room for a small tank, as well as my 125, I was given a 40 litre, but I needed a proper stand, so I've decided to go for a Juwel Primo 70, length 61 c hight 43.5c and 31c wide, I'm thinking of 8 or 10 Chili Rasboras, 6 or 8 black neon tetras, and 4 or 4 pygmy corydoras. What do you...

Best to stick juwel filtel to tank. Glue or suckers.

I've sent away for the fluval suckers, they seemingly fit the Juwel filter, and on line aquarium keepers say they are a lot better, if that doesn't work been looking at magnets, there's avideo on YouTube about using them to attach a filter. I suppose it could not be soon as important, but I...

Best to stick juwel filtel to tank. Glue or suckers.

My new Aquarium will come with the juwel bio flow one filter, which comes with 4 suckers, I've read on line, that they are not very good. But you can replace them with the fluval bio life suckers, that are supposed to be better, or would I be better using the juwel context glue.

I will be soon purchasing a Juwel Primo 70 aquarium, it comes with the Juwel Bio Flow one filter, I was thinking of using goop, or putting this filter in my cycled 125 tank, if I did this, how long would I leave it in the 125 tank, before returning it to the new tank, and could I just...

    Questions regarding tetra keeping

Thanks, I have had posts saying to have a Betta or shrimps but I'm afraid I ain't keen on any of them, I think I may get away with 6 Chili Rasboras, I'd rather set up the tank to have something that I like and they are not big, I know they are a shoaling fish, but they will be well looked after.

    Questions regarding tetra keeping

Although I wouldn't purchase a small tank, I've been giving a 10 gallon for free, I'm not set up yet, the fish I'm thinking of having are Chili Rasboras 0.6 to 0.8 of a inch, and pygmy corydoras a small catfish, one inch in size, so both are small, haven't made my mind up how many of each I can...

    Information on Goop

Don't know if this is old news, after reading tropica's info on How to use their product Goop, they say to use ideally within 48 hours fish can be added at the same time, or within the 48 hours, the product does not have a long shelf life as its alive that's why where ever possible we advise...

    New tank, how to cycle

, I'm a bit worried, if I remove the green sponge, which will hold bacteria, and replace it with a brand new sponge, that means I'm losing bacteria in my main tank, could this harm my fish, how long would it take the new sponge to have sufficient bacteria grown on it?

    On the subject of dosing

Yes I know I fell for it, thinking these products are good. And as Essjay, and yourself have said you don't need them. From now on I will stick to using a dechorinator and some plant fertiliser.
  37. C

    New tank, how to cycle

I thought it would be better to use tank water from a water change rather than tap water, as it is nil of ammonia, nitrite, and a ph of 7.5, maybe not better for cycling but better than tap.
  38. C

    On the subject of dosing

Your right, ifell for it, after reading the great things it does for helping bacteria, will have to be a true Scot in the future and be cany.
