I'm currently working on my new tank, I'm planning on half filling it, as I first want to put in plants, would they survive without heating, or would the heating g have to be on? As later I'm planning on using Goop then adding fish, so was going to put the heating on later.

When you clean your filter sponges in tank water do you squeeze the sponges, if you do does this not release the bacteria. Or do you just swish them in the water.

On the 23rd June the Gh was 8 and KH was7, PH 7.5 I'm now definitely going for Celestial pearl Danios, and Pygmy Corydorus if this ok.

Is there special type silicone to use on Aquariums.

My new Aquarium will come with the juwel bio flow one filter, which comes with 4 suckers, I've read on line, that they are not very good. But you can replace them with the fluval bio life suckers, that are supposed to be better, or would I be better using the juwel context glue.

Thanks for that I'm surprised at the length of time amounts to 6 weeks, goop not too expensive, will have to look at would be the best, at least sticking it in the aquarium is free.

It was 27c and I fixed the fan up, took about 5 mins, checked 2 hours later and it was down to 24 c so I switch it off, quite happy with it, as it was under £20.

Yes I know I fell for it, thinking these products are good. And as Essjay, and yourself have said you don't need them. From now on I will stick to using a dechorinator and some plant fertiliser.

I thought it would be better to use tank water from a water change rather than tap water, as it is nil of ammonia, nitrite, and a ph of 7.5, maybe not better for cycling but better than tap.

Your right, ifell for it, after reading the great things it does for helping bacteria, will have to be a true Scot in the future and be cany.
