    Fin rot?

It's hard to tell from those pictures. What's your setup like? If you think there might be a bit of fin rot it won't hurt to do lots of water changes to keep the water clean while he heals.

anyone have general information pertaining to ADFs with bonus/additonal limbs?

Not heard of it myself although he looks okay otherwise! Is he able to get around normally?

Can you keep mysis in freshwater?

Okay thanks, I bought them as food for my betta with the idea of adding them in so he can hunt for them, but he's obviously in freshwater so I guess I will just have to take one out at a time and target feed. Lesson learned, won't buy them again!

Can you keep mysis in freshwater?

Hi all Bought some mysis shrimp as live food for my betta, they came in saltwater so I've left them in their container for now. I was wondering if they can live in freshwater? I have another peaceful tank and was thinking of putting some in there potentially? A lot of the information I've found...

    Best shrimp for betta?

Ah I'm not sure where you're based but you can sometimes order live food from online fish or reptile stores (its a terribly expensive way of doing it but for me it works aa I have no space to culture).

    Best shrimp for betta?

@fishtime! I had the same thought as you with my betta, thinking it would be good stimulation for him to add some shrimps. He had other ideas and hunted them incessantly until I netted them out and put them elsewhere! I took that as him saying he preferred the tank as his own domain! I buy live...

    Newbee

All depends on dimensions and what fish you go for. Some fish like goldfish will produce a lot of waste so you'd be cleaning more, others much less etc. As a vague rule expect to change around 50% of your water a week but again this will be dependent on what fish you get. While you're cycling...

    Alien Betta and Tetras

I've got an alien betta and they are absolutely stunning. Mine is so aggressive that I can't even put any shrimp with him but I know they are all different. Personally I would set up a species only tank for your little guy then you won't have any worries about conflict etc. They really do stand...

Any suggestion on Filter for my nano tank

OP you have been given advice on other threads about tanks being too small for the fish you have in them, please don't add another tank which is too small as this is incredibly unfair on any fish you put in it.

    Betta tank size advice

I have mini water lettuce and elodea in my betta tank, no issues with either. He loves making bubble nests inside the water lettuce.

    Sick Pearl Danio

Not an expert but she looks like she's pine coning, it may be too late to save her and could be kinder to humanely euthanise but wait for other's feedback first! No idea on the cause but sounds like the new fish have potentially introduced something pretty devastating into your tank. Sorry you...

🐠 TOTM VOTE NOW - September 2024 Tank of the Month Contest (16 Gal and smaller)

Here's my new 10 gallon which I set up following the disaster in my 30 gallon which I've documented on here recently. It's from superfish, comes with inbuilt light and filter, I haven't used the inbuilt filter as mine was cycled already so I've kept that as an emergency spare. Currently using a...

My Koi is trying to Jump out of water, why?

I really do not mean to be too critical but this is still way too small for any of the fish you currently have. I can see that you care and are trying to fix things but you either need to buy a much bigger tank or return the fish you have for more suitable fish. You cannot safely keep the fish...

My Koi is trying to Jump out of water, why?

Strips are not very accurate unfortunately, and with the amount of fish you have it is highly likely you have levels of ammonia and nitrite at least. You need to be doing very very large daily water changes with this amount of fish, but long term this just isn't sustainable. You really need to...

My Koi is trying to Jump out of water, why?

What test kit are you using? With how overstocked this tank is I'm struggling to believe you have no ammonia at all.

My Koi is trying to Jump out of water, why?

OP is keeping a number of large fish in a 35 litre tank, that's probably why the fish are trying to escape.

Water cleaning with gravel and lot of dirt below

Your tank is way too small. Like way way way too small. Return all of these fish and get some nano fish or upgrade your tank yesterday. You can't keep a tank of this size clean and your fish healthy because you are massively overstocked. That's probably why your koi is trying to escape as per...

    Betta tank size advice

I use the same size as Essjay, if I could start again I'd probably use a 10 gallon just to give me a bit more space to play with. Once you've added decor and plants etc a 3 gal or similar would be quite tight on space.

    New Project

They can, I've heard it should be a rare treat as I've read some people saying it causes bloat, not sure if there's direct evidence for that but I try to bear it in mind just in case. Mine have never taken to pellets but do love brine shrimp.

tap water ph very low and hardness very high

You may be able to get some RO water to help soften the hardness if you search for companies like spotless water. Not ideal but I have to do it this way as I live in a very hard water area. You can mix with your tap water to reduce the hardness. I'd contact the water company to see if they've...

    New Project

Tbh I can't sex mine properly a day they're adults! I can't see the armpit nubs on any of them but one is visibly smaller so I assume he's male. You'll know for sure if you ever find them mating!

    New Project

Yeah I have to order live food as don't have anywhere to grow it either. I tend to put it right on top of their noses and even then they can still miss it 🤣 I did twice daily feeding as well for the first couple of months just to help bulk them out. The tail nubbin can help differentiate...

    Red flame scarf gouramies

It's your tank of course, it just seems incredibly risky for no real benefit especially with no quarantine for the gourami. I'm sure in your other thread there was advice about not adding anything to your tank for at least a month because of the deaths you have experienced. I can't talk, I lost...

    Red flame scarf gouramies

Gouramis and bettas shouldn't be kept together. I'll leave it to other more knowledgeable members to expand but this is really not a good idea. I thought your bettas were in a species only tank?

    Red flame scarf gouramies

Aren't they a bit like bettas (unsurprisingly) in behaviour/aggression?

    New Project

Yay more ADF's on TFF! Love your setup, it looks great! How big is the tank? It looks big enough for a couple more if you ask me ;) As @Seisage says they're not the brightest, I feed using a pipette and even then depending on how they move they can miss the food entirely lol. I very very...

    10 gallon ADF tank

Yeah they are often out and about at the front, as soon as they notice me they stand up on their back legs looking for food :D
  31. L

    10 gallon ADF tank

Yeah it comes with a choice of loads of different colours, I like purple and blue so went with that. I've checked and the light doesn't reflect into the tank at all otherwise I wouldn't keep it on.

    10 gallon ADF tank

My ADF's were my sole survivors from my ammonia/pH disaster in my 30 gallon. I popped them into my QT tank but I don't really "like" that tank so I decided to buy them a new home. I ended up with a supafish scaper, as you can see it comes with fancy under-lighting (had no idea it had that when I...

    Not crazy about them ?

I don't like mollies and platies, I couldn't even tell you why! Any time I see them on a video or whatever I'm just like meh. They just don't grab me or excite me at all. Ironically I think both would do well in my natural tap water but I prefer making my life hard with soft water fish that need RO!

    New tank PH problem ?

This sounds similar to what I experienced just last week in a tank, I had an ammonia and pH spike (not due to cycling but added root tabs) which killed all my fish. The symptoms you describe sound similar. You need to work out what's raising the pH. From what I understand from the advice I was...
