    Apistogramma cacatuoides fry

I have a pair of Mollys in the tank with the a. cacatuoides couple. I think the Mollys are eating the Apistogramma fry. I may have to move the Mollys to another tank before the next apistogramma spawn. The apistogramma couple are not being terribly territorial in the area of the fry. I assume...

    Apistogramma cacatuoides fry

I just ordered a BBS kit. I’ll know in a few days. The mother and father are first time parents. They are not being particularly territorial. I guess that happens with naïve parents. My Molly’s are looming in the background. Looking for an easy snack.

The Lone Ranger and Trigger would disagree. They seemed to like the arrangement. But I respect your point of view. BTW Was the Lone Ranger’s horse really named Trigger or was it Silver? My memory fails. 🤔

    Apistogramma cacatuoides fry

I recently obtained a pair of a. cacatuoides orange and I already have fry. The fry are much smaller than I am used to. The first time parents are doing a decent job of caretaking.

Electric Blue Acara with Leopard bushfish in 30 gallon cube?

Congo tetras need some swimming space. How wide is your tank? Plus people generally recommend having at least 6-8 Congo tetras in a tank.

    Sparring question

What’s the correct term for when two fish of the same species go nose to nose, moving back-and-forth in a horizontal manner? Is that sparring? My butterfly cichlids (a. thomasi) do it all the time.

Interesting and sorry to hear. I have had my minnows for about two years. I do a weekly 20% water exchange. The tapwater temperature going into the tank is 70°F. The tank temperature fluctuates with the room temperature and that fluctuation can be 5° Over the course of a year. I have not lost...

    Pruning swords question

My 20 gallon livebearer tank has become a jungle overgrown with Amazon swords. To prune this tangle of greenery do I remove a certain number of leaves from each root or do I trim each leaf a few inches or something else? Thanks.
