    Panda Garra and African Cichlids

I looked it up. If he insists on African Cichlids those 4 panda garras will be moving to my 55. with their former tank mates.

    Panda Garra and African Cichlids

I have 4 panda garra in the 100 gallon tank I take care of, and the tropicals got old and moved to my 55. So I was considering angelfish for the tank and my customer wants african cichlids. I don't want dead panda garra. I think they are related to chinese algae eaters, who can live with...

    What are you doing today?

I'll bet it was less than when the 75's right front started screaming and I had to have it towed to the shop and they changed the bearing

    What are you doing today?

I think I need to treat the bees again today. I still haven't moved the grass out of the east bed, or mowed. I need to paint the case of a portable sewing machine to make it more marketable, and get a couple of cabinet models ready and on Marketplace. I could have sold 3 sunday if i had had...

    What are you doing today?

they can't. I added too much to my pond yesterday, didn't kill them all but I killed 3. I didn't add a lot of water but apparently too much chlorine not to neutralize it. People came over while I was filling. I turned hose off but I didn't add dechlorinator

    What are you doing today?

I have wolf spiders all over. The red wasps hunt them. I find them in the house now and then and evict them to the garden

    What are you doing today?

We have tarantulas that have mating seasons, the males come out of their underground dens and go girlfriend hunting, I opened my screen door a couple of years ago and one fell off the top right in front of me. He was about 6 inches wide, that would be what in centimeters? I just encouraged him...

with more hours in a day I could do so much more. I think I'm part border collie, lol ( I used to have a pair of border collie mixes)

    What are you doing today?

I fixed the pond yesterday. Apparently when granddaughter and I emptied it last month we pushed on the milk crates supporting the top basin corner waterfall and made a small tear in the liner. with no child here it got everything out and pressure washed, leaks patched and refilled. Bottom half...

    What are you doing today?

there is a leak in the top basin of my backyard pond. I dug up about 100 Jon Fannick Phlox yesterday that need given away, sold or replanted on the east side. and it's quit raining so I can treat the bees. Fixing the pond leak first, they drink at that pond, I don't want company during the fix

    What are you doing today?

if the 2 that died were smaller males I have an idea what happened. I was looking at Sterbai corydoras last week. How hardy are those?

    The fish toilet

it might actually be better in my case, since the larger the water change at least in summer, the more likely I am to lose fish. I can't do 50% water changes with just dechlorinated water anymore. I think the pH is rising in my tap water due to lake evaporation

    The fish toilet

I don't know if the fish will use it. Actually this is a real piece of equipment being marketed to small pet stores. I don't have a small pet store but I still get some of the spam. The Hygger External Fish Toilet coming to a store near you soon. I'll let the people selling them detail the specs.

    What are you doing today?

You hold that water temp at 90 and you can breed discus at a pH of 7.8. i can't, but I know people used to

    What are you doing today?

I used to be able to keep mollies. I should be able to keep mollies. maybe the last mollies I bought just had something wrong with them. I haven't even tried platies in years. Lots of years.... My water should be hard enough for mollies and platies, given the stones my vet took out of my dog

These angels are extra spendy… are they worthy???

I had to bring in Electric Blue Johanni African cichlids from an importer once, I got 4, 2 of which died in quarantine. Customer was willing to spend $200 apiece on them, this was back in about 2000

These angels are extra spendy… are they worthy???

out of my budget, I thought $35 was spendy
  27. Alice B

    What are you doing today?

About that tagline of yours, I think that the water in my area makes most fish too hard to keep. Except African cichlids and I don't want to keep them anymore
  28. Alice B

    What are you doing today?

not really. They might be more successful in defending that honey in difficult situations. It also takes a microscope and a person to operate it to tell an africanized honeybee from a european honeybee. I've had hot a hive that made no honey only drew a couple of frames of comb and while I fed...

    What are you doing today?

That's about the time I add a gourami. or an angelfish. I don't have a local fish store that would buy the livebearer young, and lately I don't seem to have the right water for platies or mollies so I just don't buy them anymore.

    What are you doing today?

The first hive I bought turned out to be africanized bees with a cordovan queen, hotter than a firecracker. I always wear a suit. Getting honey requires rainfall. in 13 years I have had a honey harvest 5 times. I just like bees. I have no idea how many times I have been stung, I used to open...

    What are you doing today?

I keep European Honeybees, these swarms are probably descendants of the Beeweaver hybrid species I bought queens of several times since 2011. Lose a swarm, seed the area with bees. When I planted wildflowers to feed my honeybees, I also attracted blue mason bees, leaf cutter bees, bumblebees...
  32. Alice B

    What are you doing today?

more likely it's a queen issue. No need to separate the hives, and I am about to treat them for mites, which are the chief transmission of viruses in bees. Kill the mites it knocks out most diseases. Nosema is a contagious disease but it favors cold rainy weather and our currrent cold front has...

I moved all the plants from my 55 out on wednesday, dipped in bleachwater yesterday, rinsed and put in my 29 and my 40. Moved the clown pleco and the shrimp to the 40, because I had to bring home 10 Buenos Aires Tetras and a 6 or 7 year old moonlight gourami from the commercial account...

    What are you doing today?

I also got a 30 gallon tub for their backyard water, part of the problem in not drinking is the water gets hot. so I have a pump and an extension cord and they can have a fountain cooled water bowl.

    What are you doing today?

cici is pretty good this morning. it's hot here so water that starts out hard gets harder when the water part evaporates. They have been out until noon or 1 each day then crated til at least 6 or 7 and that has not helped at all. drinking and peeing not enough, and hard water to boot, it can do...
