I feed them Fluval Bug Bites, Hikari Algae Wafers, left over betta pellets from Dennerle, they had tons of frozen daphnia couple days ago. Nothing that's red, which is my concern is growing..

Although I think I seen it as something raised, I think it was fluffy. But again, I might just be paranoid 🤣 Hopefully nothing that spreads :)

Although, if it would be a parasite, how would I know? If it's food, why is red? Does it come out on its own or with molts? Sorry, just wanna make sure :)

I've had these amano shrimps for nearly a year now. I haven't had any issues with them, only at the start I lost some shrimps to I don't know what. Since then? No issues. Never knew shrimps were like toddlers, having food stuck in impossible spots... Their eyes tell everything tho... 😬

Also, if you look close enough: my java moss grew red berries..

Hello. I came back from work not too long and I noticed this red splotch on my amano. What is it? Is it dangerous? I don't see it on my other shrimps.

^ While domestic soft water fish can survive in hard water, doesn't mean these fish thrive. It's not something I would do personally.

I use a sponge filter because I have shrimps that I want to breed, and once my gups grow up I also want to breed them. I have to clean it often as well, not sure why. It could be either up to detritus overload, or because it's one of them corner sponges.

I'll keep doing some water changes then stop and watch the tank. After I did a large one yesterday, I haven't observed any problems today. I get paranoid if I don't see two out of 7 fry, but then I see them all and get sooo relieved! 😂👌 I gave them TONS of frozen daphnia, lil guys enjoyed this...

I think you're completely right. How did I not think of that before? I'll have to do another water change tomorrow. How many changes would I have to do?

What could have been the cause of this then? I tested the water for ammonia and nitrite, both were at 0. This tank is a year old now. I don't know.. maybe I'm just paranoid? :(
