now ive had my clowns for 3 days, still havent seen them come out, stil hiding in the driftwood. their gills are like moving really fast(8-10 times a second) does this mean its breathing heavily? what do i do now? im worried about them now.... they havent eaten for 3 days but their colours are...

thanks for all replies. my clown loaches have hid themselves in the gravel under the driftwood for about 5 hours then i lifted the driftwood and it swam away, after about 30seconds later i came back to see it and it was udner the driftwood again ;) hope theyll come out in a few days.

it could be dropsy, even though it mainly happens to gouramis other fish couold get it aswell. does it scales stick up like a pinecone?

2 gold 2 pearl gouramis (medium sized) 2 bronze cats btw the 2 clowns are hiding under the heater and ther are lots of places to hide in. and one more question, are the nocturnal?

hello, i have just got 2 clown loaches in a 46 gallon. about 2-3inch each but they are hiding most of the time is this normal at the start? and will they eat off the surface of the tank? what do u guys feed them? i thought they were very active and joyful to watch

well plants browning will usually cause ammonia to spike up so wenever u see plants browning or dead leaves remove them straight away. maybe ur pH test kit is old and maynot show correct readings?

hello i was thinking to add ammrid into my cannister filter but is it good for the fish? if i have ammonia remover in there will it kill ALL the ammonia? so then will i be able to have as many fish as i want since i have somthing that is constantly gettin rid of the ammonia? thanks for ur time...

i use stress coat but it dosnt lower the pH maybe u have driftwood in the tank cos they can lower pH levels

testing everyday would make me poor! cos here in nz its 20$ for 5 tests nitrite and ammonia i only get 10$ a week of pocket money :( anyother ways?

well i read in this book that to start off with a corydoras species cos wen feedin if the food sinks down to the gravel it wont just ly there to create ammonia. whats the best thing i can do now?

i got some malkon for fish skin diseases by lagan pharmaceuticals, the dude at the lfs told me to take the carbon pad of my the filter. it was pretty cheap so i dont know if its reliable or not. and says on the bottle that heating up the tank is not necessary but should i do it anyway to 29c or...
