lots of live rock! 1 to 2 lbs per gallon that will help speed up the process.let that set up for about 2 weeks then add your critters (hermet crabs, turbo snails) things like that go 2 more weeks and then you can add somethig hardy like damsles. they are a great starter fish and very colorfull...

10 gl saltwater? PLEASE DONT! it is way to small. not even big enough for one clown! small tanks are hard to keep stabalized. i wouldnt go any smaller than a 55 for marine. and Please dont get more than 2 clown fish because more than 2 will only cause problems. clown fish have no sex when born...

will this be enough lighting for coral? my lfs said yes but you know how much most lfs know about coral! :lol: I dont want to take any chances.

my lfs dont have any and i would like some in my sump to. but the shiping you pay from on line stores is terrable. So if anyone has a bunch of it i would like some too. and i'll pay for it and the shiping.

i am so lucky :P my husbend took me shoping yesterday and got me new live rock 2 new fish. the rock has some pretty mushrooms on it. here is a pic of my new rock and one of the new fish it is a fugi damsel. i spent over 100.00 on just rock alone. WOW! Am i insane lol :lol:

i was always told to keep it between 1.022- 1.024 but from what i have been reading this is to low. it should be 1.026????? this means for the last year my salinity has been way to low :o should i gradually raise it to 1.026?? Right now it varies between 1.023 and 1.024.

yep it is your lights for sure. you may just need new bulbs. mine went bad in my saltwater tank and everything turned brown. i replaced the lights and everything went back to normal.

love my irocz no t-tops but it is a 5 speed with a LT1 vette moter and very fast i love it. it was actually my husbands before he died. i bought it for him so i kept it.

i would say your lighting is bad causeing a brown alge. you shoud be getting green alge not brown. my lighting went bad in my saltwater tank and it did the same thing but as soon as i changed the lights it went away.

you say your tank has just cycled, do you have (living) live rock in the tank yet? base rock is good for a tank that is already set up and already has bactera built up. if you dont already have live rock get some! before you add fish!
