The juwel range was aimed at planted tanks so the filtration rate will be slower than normal. There is no problem in adding the extral filter well thats what id say anyway

Can you tell us the volume of the tank that im assuming you have as this has a huge bearing on the cost. Also do you intend to have a reef tank or fish only?
