This is what I want when ive made tons of money, an awesome fish tank and money to pay the team of engineers to do the maintenance and water changes.

Fish keeping is super daunting. And ive only had my tanks for a month, no fish in them yet but learning everything is amazing.

I had one of these it died within 3 days of planting it. Not sure what it is though.

I went to my LFS yesterday and got about 80usd of plants. I started planting the new plants immediately after doing a water check. All my parameters are stable. while planting I kicked up quite a bit of dust. Tomorrow I will send pics once the water has settled.

On the test it was red which is beyond 1ppm. As there is no red colour on the test sheet.

My cycle is broken again, ammonia has hit 0 in 24hrs but nitrite is very high and havent seen much change in 2 days.

I have both a 70l and a 260l and they are both awesome. get the bigger tank, jsut make sure the crossbars are there and there aren't any cracks. also make sure the silicon isnt flakey.

for stocking follow the rule and inch of fish for every 1 to 2 gallons of water.

what are otos, there shouldn't be any problem with adding gouramis.

I found this chart on a local aquarium online shop. it seems to show which fish can be kept together from a community point of view. this chart doesn't say anything about water types or PH so do some additional research first.

so the plants are causing trouble. any way I have started to see nitrate in my tests now so it seems it is working it was just taking awhile.

maybe do a bigger water change, add more oxygen and make sure the water ph hasnt change to much

@smackitsakic you don't really need two filters but it does make a difference, in removing dust and bits of floating debris.
