    ***possible Diy Co2 Breakthrough!***

Can a mod move this for me. Seems easier than reposting. As far as the bogwood, if the water was harder, like the tap water at 130ppm instead of the softer 100ppm after the bogwood softens it, the Co2 levels would show higher on the Co2 calculator

    ***possible Diy Co2 Breakthrough!***

You can not alter the KH levels other than by adding or removing carbonate. You can not alter the CO2 levels other than by adding or removing CO2. Ph can be altered by changing either value. Since KH didn't change, it leads me to believe that the Co2 changed.

I didn't think so. I've seen those numbers too. I am just going off of the numbers I'm getting from my tank. How can I explain those numbers?

    ***possible Diy Co2 Breakthrough!***

I think I have stumbled upon a DIY Co2 breakthrough. I have results on my end but, would like help from a few volunteers to help confirm what I've found. I have set up my DIY Co2 like this: The actual set up looks like this: As you can see, it's simply a cut in half 20oz. soda...

    Diy Co2 Questions

Midday test: KH 100 Ph 6.4 May be working TOO good!!! This equates to 66.5ppm of Co2. I may have to run the air stone full time to compensate for the excess Co2. The fish are not gasping for air but, they are noticably lethargic. The Rasbora's are sitting suspended instead of their normal...

    Diy Co2 Questions

This is turning into a research thread. More testing is needed though and I'll post results. Here's what I have so far. Can someone please interpret this for me? 55gl U.S. tank size with top soil substrate ala Diana Walstad Co2 method mentioned above 3 chunks of driftwood 1 sword plant 2...

    Diy Co2 Questions

I think I may have answered my own questions. Water from my tap is registering 130ppm kH and 7.6Ph for a conversion of 5.5ppm of Co2. I have the above set up and just used my own lungs to blow into the tube and fill the bell with air. I have the above mentioned tube flowing water through the...

    Diy Co2 Questions

I have my Co2 set up like this: The water from the spraybar helps to circulate the Co2 infused water out into the tank. My questions are: 1. As long as there is Co2 in the difuser, it is constantly being defused correct? I'm assuming that, if there is no more supply of Co2 into the...

    6ft+ Tank Owners

Possibly green spot algae on the glass? May also just be the way the water is being refracted. Place a white piece of paper on one end of the tank and look through the other. My 120gl has a slight brown haze to it when looking the length of it but, when I place a white piece of paper at the...

    Multi Part Filter Question

    1. If I have 2 XP3 filters, can I hook them together? Tube from tank goes to intake of filter #1. Filter #1 is filled with exclusively mechanical media. Return return from filter #1, instead of returning to the tank would plug into the intake port of filter #2. Filter #2 would be filled...

How To Set Up A Canister?

How To Set Up A Canister?

I have a Rena XP3 on my 55gl tank. From the bottom, it set like this: bottom: Sponge filter media next layer up: bio balls next layer up: more bio balls top layer: micro filter pad Is this the way it's supposed to be? that's how the book advises it but, it seems to me that the bacteria...
