2 54 watt bulbs isn't really a lot for corals, especially if they don't have individual reflectors.. For fish/non-photosynthetic inverts, it's perfectly fine. :)

I believe the general rule is however many gallons your tank is. For example 37 gallons = 37 pounds of sand. Roughly. You may want a little bit more if you want 2 inches. But if you're not having any burrowing fish, you should probably stick with <1 inch.

Mine jumped out too. Within 2 minutes of it being in the tank. And then it jumped again, about 18 hours later. Except I wasn't home at the time. :(

Mesh screen with bird netting, huh? Any links to a video on how to make it or something? The only ones they sell in teh divers den are blue spotted ones, which are apparently much harder to keep. Plus they're a lot more expensive, and harder to find. I don't want to be responsible for killing...

I got a full refund from liveaquaria for the jawfish. And I bought another one. If this one dies, that's it. :/ It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Everything looks good, tested the water, did a water change, scraped off the glass... There isn't that much else I can do. *crosses fingers*

He still seems stressed out and hes really skittish but he's still eating. He made a small burrow in the front corner, but there shells are falling on him and he's too small to move them.

I decided to just do it last night since I was doing a water change anyway. Named him Jaw. Very original. XD He's doing good so far, he's only been in the tank for about an hour though. He ate some mysis so that's a good sign.

Unless you let the rocks sit out of the water for a while, yo should be okay. If I were you I would test ammonia and maybe nitrate for about a week, if they check out then go ahead and add the lobster. Make sure you get a powerhead though.

Neon gobies are great fish. Mandarin gobies have specialized diets, and like you said, better left to the experts. A blenny would work as well, I had a midas blenny in my 37g tank for over a year and he was great.

It might be a while before I get it, but I definitely will post pics when I do.

It's worth mentioning that Scooter blennies are much more likely to eat frozen food than regular mandarins. However, I don't think it's been proven that they can survive on frozen food alone, they still need pods.

With two clowfish and a bangaii you could probably have one more fish. However, sometimes clownfish will become aggressive over time, so I would make sure to add them last to give the other fish time to settle in.
