Good to hear, I just dont want to spent the money on them if they will just die quickly. We have really hard water here with a high ph and without installing an RO system I am kinda stuck with that at the moment.

I didnt because it was a different style filter, i bought the Aqua Clear 70 and replaced the silly kit pump and filter so the existing filter would not have fit...i only lost 8 days so I am not to worried, I was hoping some of the bacteria would have started to build in the substrate but oh well.

I just bit the bullet and bought the Aqua Clear 70 so I did not have to worry anymore. It says its good for 40-70 gallon tanks and mine is only 36 but I figured overkill is better than not enough filtration.
