Fish Of The Week - Wrasses

Hi all, My canary wrass (Cecil Bananahead) sleeps in the substrate and slithers out in the morning. Then he zooms around the tank all day being colourful and friendly and then it is early to bed (like my firefish - perhaps they like each other!), ready for tomorrow's zooming. A delight but...

    Sea Urchin Advice Please!

Thanks for all the advice. He seems pretty stationary but has eaten a whole prawn and keeps going with the seaweed whenever I offer it. Seems my rock is safe for now. No more spines dropped. Great!

Fish Of The Week - Wrasses

I have a little canary wrass. I love him-bonkers behaviours (typical wrass behaviour, I think but amusing to me!). He adds really vibrant colour to my tank and fills the gap that I had reserved for a yellow tang. I realised that my tank was to small for a tang really, so got Cecil Bananahead...

    Sea Urchin Advice Please!

Hi, Thanks for the advice, Smokin' Joe! I've target fed the urchin today and he seems a lot happier - I'm on it now! Also to you, Seffie for the welcome-youngfisher directed me here a while back when I was trying to decide on fish stock. I have a 500L set up (3ft by 2ft by 2ft with sump)...

    Sea Urchin Advice Please!

Hi guys, I'm sorry I only post when I need advice - newbie (I nearly died when my shrimp molted the other day!). Anyway, believe it or not I was gifted a beautiful sea urchin the other week. All seemed cool for a couple of days. I was led to believe it was quite active and seemed so to...

    Fish Stocking Opinions

Update! The canary wrass is to be recommended! A similar shade of colour to a yellow tang it zooms up and down like a mad thing. Have you seen those little slinky toys that look like caterpillars (not slinkies). They are pulled by an "invisible" string and can be worked through the fingers...

    Fish Stocking Opinions

Hi all, Thanks for the advice. Yes, I'm happy to leave the tang to a bigger tank. I'm decided on the wrass - cardinal option. I'll let you know how I get on. Cheers, G.

    Fish Stocking Opinions

True, YF, The Domino had some really interesting aspects - lots of personality. He wasn't all bad by any means. I just felt that the kind of community I wanted to build wouldn't work with the two of them stirring. G.

    Fish Stocking Opinions

Hi m8, Yeah, I did - it says I have no posts. (I've offended someone already!) To bring you up to date (as you may have gathered, I been to the lfs. My two prob damsels are being picked up by a hobbyist today with a new tank and there are the two new additions (in a more peaceful vibe) of...

    Fish Stocking Opinions

Hi all, My last post seems to have disappeared before I got much advice. (I don't know why but hopefully I'll read some of your thoughts this time.) I have a 3ft by 2ft by 2ft which makes 360L plus a 140L sump. I'm interested in reading some people's stock levels as they seem to manage...

    Damsels Advice

Yes - they are meant to be slightly more peaceable aren't they? I wonder if my dull browny-black damsel might be one though that has lost colouration over time - the tail is slightly yellowish. Cheers guys, G.

    Damsels Advice

Hi all, Youngfisher has directed me here as a place to gain advice. I've bought a complete set up which is all in all pretty good. There are a couple of small issues. It is a 4ft by 2ft by 2ft with a LOT of fijian live rock (somewhere between sixty and a hundred kilos - too much?), good...
