    Moving House - Advice Please!

Hi, I am due to move house later this week (solicitors willing!) and have a Juwel Vision 180 set up that will need to be moved. I am moving to the other side of the village - probably about a mile and a half away. I know that I will have to almost empty the tank of water to transfer it, but I...

    Black Spot Barb chasing others

I have 3 black spot barbs. 2 are about 25 - 30mm in length and the third is slightly larger, about 35 - 40mm long. The larger one seems to spend most of his day chasing the other two around the tank - this seems to have intensified over the last couple of days. I haven't noticed any injuries on...

    PH Reading of 8.

Hi, I've bought a test kit and tested my aquarium water last night. The reading was 8. I tried it again first thing this morning and it was still 8. Should I be worried about this? I have a large piece of bogwood in the tank and quite a few live plants. Thanks RPB

    Barbs standing on tails

I have been home all day today and have noticed all 3 of my black spot barbs in a stationary, vertical position, looking like they are standing on their tails. Is this normal behaviour for this fish? They appear to be healthy and when I approach the tank they assume a normal swimming position...

Can I add a Siamese Algae Eater?

I was looking at an SAE for its algae eating prowess, but having said that I've also been considering the Oto, but it does seem a little tender. Based on the size of the SAE I'll definately be better with Otos, but it will be more of a challenge, it seems. Thanks for the advice. Andy

Can I add a Siamese Algae Eater?

I have a Juwel 180 Vision set up with plants and the following fish; I quite like the look and sound of the Siamese Algae Eater; would I be OK to add one? 8 zebra danios; 9 neon tetras; 1 clown loach; 2 zebra loaches; 3 khuli loaches; 3 black spot barbs; 6 swordtails; 6 red eye tetras; 6...

Is an airstone a good idea?

My filter outlet (? right terminology?) is positioned so that it does cause surface disturbance of the top of the water, and it's quite powerful, so I guess I'm not going to rush out and buy an airstone. Thanks Jon (again!). Andy

Is an airstone a good idea?

I've had my aquarium running since last October. It's planted up and the fish & plants seem to be doing OK. What is the benefit (or is there any benefit) of having an airstone, and if so, do you have any recommendations for my size of aquarium? Thanks Andy :D

    Help me identify this loach

I've concluded that they are Zebras - mine are very similar to these in the links below. Thanks for your help. Andy http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/gstriata.html http://www.petresources.net/fish/cyprinid/bot_str.html

    Help me identify this loach

Another great site Wilder, thanks! I don't think mine are striped loaches. The closest match I can see is the zebra loach, but on this site, the zebras stripes don't extend under the body, wheras mine do....intriguing. Andy

    Help me identify this loach

Please can you help me to identify this loach? I have two, bought a few weeks ago. I can't remember their names - any help appreciated. I've ruled out Pakistan or Yoyo loaches as I think the stripes are too close together. Thanks Andy

Hi to all - another newie!

Hi, My name is Andy and I have a Juwel vision 180, approx 28G tank with various tropicals in it. I started the tank up in November, and suffered some deaths, most notable being my Royal Plec and 2 clown loaches a couple of weeks ago. This looks a great forum and I hope I can glean some good...
