    Advice On Pelvicachromis Taeniatus Klugger

They will hide if they are alone. They need 'dither fish' to give them more confidence and to encourage them to come out.

Can We Have Our Forum Back

Lol, i guess it isn't something you would need to mention on a fish keeping forum. I started in a similar way. Knew nothing, bought it out of the paper, washed the filter out under the tap, set it up, bought a bigger tank, boshed the fish in with no cycle or seeded media, found this place...

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

Nottinghamshire. :) Could probably get you some Rainbow Cichlids F.O.C. mate if you're willing to pick them up? They're only juvies though, around 0.75" atm. I also have a few Apistogramma Cacatuoides 'Double Red' growing on and some black blotch white Platys also growing on, they're currently...

    Community-Safe Cichlids

Remove the Pencils and get 4-6 juvenile Angels. If they happen to pair then rehome the rest. I would have 2 BN's too.

    Community-Safe Cichlids

Angels would work without a doubt. 1 is ok, but a group is better. Plan A over plan B, Thomasi are nice cichlids though. I would go with Cories over Khuli's too. Just personal preference though. There is a very similar thread below that you could have a look at too, the APS 250L.

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

2 Rainbows 3 Apistogramma 6 Angels 20 Rummynose Tetras 10 Sterbai Corydoras 3 Honey Gourami 1 L200 hi-fin That is what I would be looking at. If you end up with too may pairs then the Cories won't have anywhere to go without being seen as intruders to territories of the Cichlids. The Rainbows...

    Community-Safe Cichlids

Curviceps are nice, but Laetacara Anomala (golden eye) are more colourful. Keyholes are amazing, my favourite of all. A pair of Rainbows would be fine also. With Laetacara you only want 1 male in a group of 3 or 4. 4 Keyholes would also be ok. All will be fine with the proposed stocking too.

    Community-Safe Cichlids

If you're wanting a pair then you will have to stick to something dwarf. Cryptoheros and Thorichthys in pairs will be to ott for a community tank imo. The Red Breasted Acara would be worth a look, as would the Golden Eye Cichlid. I have never read anything about life span issues in Apisto's...

    Community-Safe Cichlids

Rainbow Cichlids would work well. A single Firemouth would be fine with a group of Tetra's such as the Rosy or the Lemon. You could consider one of their relatives such as the Aureus, Ellioti, Mixteco Gold etc. Sajica's are nice, but if you ended up with a pair they will probably cause havoc...

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

Nice to know! Thanks. :) Rainbows are super duper dupery supery cichlids!! They're herbivorous so will nibble on plants. Their colours are excellent. They're pretty placid and can be shy, but with dithers they should be fine.

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

Lmao! Haha! That was their first hour in my tank. they hardly visit the bottom now, its too active. Which Rainbows?
  29. minnnt

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

That will be fine. Angels will occupy the top of the tank and the Rams and Apisto's will spend most of the time towards the bottom.

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

Keyholes are my favourite fish, so you won't hear me say a bad word about them. Lol. If your wanting a bit more colour then look towards Apistogramma's. Cacatuoides are probably the most common and are available in a range of morphs now. Agassizzi are also great. The 'Fire Red' strain is...

    Aps 250L Stocking? Angels/elliotti/others?

Would you consider other options over Ellioti? Mine was a fantastic fish, but pretty aggressive. Well, bossy more than aggressive. Angels can be pretty dopey and slow to move out of the way of any attacks etc. Bolivian Rams, Keyholes, Rainbow Cichlids, Apistogramma, Nannacara, Laetacara etc...
