Thanks Kelly for your advice The South American Puffers are the non-aggressive type. From the little research I've done - they dont require brackish.. but i shall definitely take your comments on board! Am still sad about not baing able to have the Discus so am now trying to decide on the SAPs...

Got home from work today and 3 of the neons no longer with us. Including the 'emergency' one.. Meanwhile the fishies are swimming around happily in their newly cleaned+aerated tank. Not done a cycle yet so off to LFS to get all the bits plus water test. Thanks for all help / advice
