With mine, I had him for two months. The water was good, nitrite and Ammonia at 0. He cycled tank, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Thats odd, the exact same thing just happened to me.

I recently experienced the same behavior after I introduced what Im sure is a very young female to my sort of young male. The male bullied the hell out of her for about a week, then suddenlt stopped.

I changed my filter during cycling and in 2 days following, the cycle completed, so Im not sure where the bacteria live.

I found a better place actually. ON RT.22, called shark aquarium. Very , very good price, HUGE selection that includes 50 species of pirahana and rare african cichlids (and no cockatoo's). Its worth the trip. As soon as you get on 22, its 5 mins down the road.
