Hi all I have a problem with fish dissappearing all of a sudden. I am inclined to blame a rather large african clawed albino toad as i have seen it eat a dead fish in the past but it would appear that something is killing and eating my other fish. Has anyone else come accross a similar...

OOOH... I'm getting quite excited now lol.... best get my breeding net out at the ready. Would it be best to transfer just the fry into the net or would you put the mother in there too for a start? (assuming I manage to see any of them)

Can't see any signs of spiking scales... they do seem a little paler round the widest part of their tummies when i catch them in the right light but nothing really noticeable and they are eating very well..... they are probably the most active in the tank at feeding time. The tanks been set up...

Oh, so you think they are pregnant? :unsure: .... they do have quite large tummies but i can't for the life of me see a gravid? spot... the other female looks exactly the same to me

Well I have 3 larger fish with the larger anal fin and one quite a bit smaller with a smaller pointed anal fin.... I have noticed the smaller one chasing the other three around quite alot just lately so i assume I have one male and three female. Water temp is a steady 26 degC.... good water...

I have in my community tank 3 female orange platties and one male, they have been in there for about 4 months and as yet i don't think they have bred or at least i haven't seen them. I have a spare 75 ltr tank and am wondering if i set it up just for the platties if this will increase their...

Really? just goes to show, you shouldn't listen to PAH staff :crazy: I am already aware that i will need a bigger tank in the not too distant future although those pics don't give a true impression of it.... it is a 4ft by 2ft high by 16in deep

Not very good pics i'm afraid as my camera's not up to much but..... both frogs and one of the pleco's albino cats Tiger barbs and silver shark (forgot them on the list) No pics of the danio's and tetras i'm afraid :no:

well mainly the list is... Tiger barbs, 4 number..... one smaller than the other three 2 albino catfish... both look the same 2 pleco's... not sure which type but one was quite a bit smaller although now both are similar sized 5 zebra danio... all look the same 4 black neon tetras 4 red tail...

I guess this has been asked before but i can't find an answer Is there a general guideline for telling the sex of fish? I have quite a range of different species all bought as young in 2 tanks.... I've sat and studied all of them and appart from a size difference in some of them i can't see...

My predicament now is what to do next I could probably re-home the pleco and the loach? leaving the goldy and the angel as these are the two main ones that the neighbours lad is interested in. Would these two be ok in this tank for a year or two until the lads interest has probably worn off...

Managed to get some pictures of sorts, not very good but the best i can do with my equipment :blush: One of the loach??, the other one of the two is about the same size as this and the same markings but is bigger round its girth... almost looks a bit bloated, I've treated with revitaliser...

Cleaned the filter in tank water and added a smaller second one that's not been used for a while The test kit is a liquid one I'd hate to have to get rid of any of the fish as they were the neighbours son's and he does visit them occasionally ... the goldfish was his first pet when he was...

Hi all I've recently inherited a second communal tank from a neighbour It's about a 150ltr and came with 1 plec 7", 1 Angel 6", 2 loach of some description both 4" and a rather large goldfish 9". The goldfish has been in the tropical tank for around 9 years and isn't interested in gold fish...

Not a very good photo but this is our Bruno... He's 3/4 ridgeback and 1/4 collie A bit smaller than a full ridgeback and only shows a ridge when he gets excited

I watched an episode of jimmies farm the other day and they had rabbits and guinea pigs in the same area... somone reported them to the RSPCA and they came along and insisted that the two were seperated

Thanks for the help I'll turn up the air pump a little.. it's onto a 12" airstone running quite low at the moment and do a water change At the moment the clowns are only about 2" and the sharks only about 2 1/2" but I'm prepared to get a larger tank if and when it's needed

Nitrite 0.25 Nitrate 5 Ammonia 0.25 PH 7.8 Tap Nitrate 5 Judging by the nitrite, may be time for another water change?
