    Need Assistance - Planted Tank

Honestly, even if my reply is short I much appreciate the reply and can guarantee i've read it in detail!   Fertiliser looks like the best option then, including the reply following yours also. However, as you said though, my gravel holds no nutritional value, so does that mean things like...

    Need Assistance - Planted Tank

excellent read!!! Thanks a lot! Cleared tons up there.   I did actually notice that they continued to grow once floating....   What I do wonder is if I should be using any plant nutrition/fertilising substances. I see tons of them online but has never really considered if I need to invest.  ...

    Need Assistance - Planted Tank

Dirtied? Is that a layer under the gravel? If so, how the hell do I get that under the gravel. Would it literally be a case of emptying the gravel then replacing one at a time.

    Need Assistance - Planted Tank

Hi All,   I currently own a juwel 190 litre tank. It is well established (8 months) and has had plants growing for sometime. In recent months though, I've seen tanks of a much higher quality and the plants are arranged so much nicer. One tank that really stood out is one consisting of Vallis and...

    What Plants Are These?

Thank you!!   If im honest though, I thought the ones one the left looked a lot more like vallisneria, sold here:   http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquarium-plants-live/background-aquarium-plants/all-products.html

    What Plants Are These?

Both really - think they look ace.   The plants I have (Hornwort and anacharis) grow so fast and just look a mess.   I think my gravel isn't dense enough for them to root properly either.   Would love some like the above.

    What Plants Are These?

As someone who has only experience with 'beginner' plants, I've been looking for something more significant.   I came across this demo tank the other day, and want something like this. Does anyone know what these plants are?   Many thanks in advance!

    Anacharis Don't Seem To Root

Hi All,   I have a shed load of Anacharis in my tank, however, everyday there always seems to be one that uproots and floats around the tank.   Most of them are fine and are growing rapidly, but the smaller ones always end up floating.   I tried planting them as a 'bush' as recommended...

    Fish Dying/water Not Great

Died this morning bud. Think we knew it was coming, only had him a few week aswell. I did notice the two gouramis were always nipping at each other. Maybe the stress left him susceptible to disease

    Fish Dying/water Not Great

One of my dwarf gouramis has started hanging round the top of the tank, right below the surface?   I seem to think this is not a good sign?

    Fish Dying/water Not Great

Yeah I thought the other frog mght have died. The only reason I spotted the other was because it was covered in apple snails eating the remains!   Will get some water changes done and hopefully no there'll be no further deaths!   Thank you!

    Fish Dying/water Not Great

Right okay! The back wall is the worst - as you can see it is against a wall so very difficult to get to to clean, plus the plants covering it.   The catfish were always fine, but then just stopped being as active. They came out tonight for feeding though. I have ran out of ammonia liquid test...

    Apple Snail Injured?

The snail has withdrawn itself and is still holding onto its protective 'door', however I suspect it may be injured. Can't find anything on google etc with the same problem. I imagine its quite rare for snails to get part stuck in objects.

    Apple Snail Injured?

Hi All, Really didn't know whether to class this as an emergency or not, apologies if not. My apple snail got part of its body stuck inside the filter intake - I had to take it apart to free it. Since then, one part of its body seems 'dead' but it does keep attempting to move and is...

    Feeding Loach & Fish

I already do that..it seems the other fish just know where the pellets are after they done with the flakes I suppose there isnt much that can be done is there lol. If loaches need to be fed more, how can i feed them more without feeding the other fish at the same time?

    Feeding Loach & Fish

Haha yes I am aware of that! Huge lol. no its not shy it is always out swimming around..I just dont know how to feed the loach without the other fish eating his food too? Surely they will be getting too much by eating the flake them some of the pellets?
