    I have thought about getting some snails to help with a current green algae problem (I currently have 3 flying fox's, some new plants and phosphate remover on the case). Do Apple snails eat plants as well, or do they feed on algae and rotting plants only??

    try doing another 20% water change and get a test kit to take ammonia, nitrite and nitrate readings. If you follow the booklets that come with these, that should help. Tiger barbs are always active when I have seen them.....even in bare tanks. Suggests to me that something might be affecting...

    Found some of these at a Maidenhead Aquatics store in Morden, South London. 3 for a tenner so not bad. They have the stripe going into the tail and seem to be the genuine article....after a day have started nibbling..... :D Just in case anyone else was on the lookout!! :thumbs:

    I think maybe that's a bit harsh, with the right amount of space and conditions (and from what pufferpack has said before on many occasions) these are one of the most entertaining and fun fish to keep!! :thumbs: Most fish will nip and fight when they are kept together in too small tanks :/

    Sounds like mine, they get bloated after eating too much and you think they are so big that they must be pregnant, then the next day they are back to normal.....a pregnant one will look like that for weeks and get bigger and bigger and bigger..... :D

    Swordtails and platys are very closely related though, and have bred in the wild, mollies and guppies are quite different fish...... I haven't heard of any instances but then nothing would suprise me!! :blink: I guess because no one else has answered they haven't heard either!!! :X

    I can only hear my three clowns click when they come to the surface. It sounds like they are trying to drink but keep slurping!! :lol: Only happens at feeding, but you can hear it across the room!! :fun:

    I change around 15% twice a week if I can. If not I do 25% once a week. Fish seem to love the new water, and sometimes induces spawning behaviour in some types..... :D
