Yup those figures would be the total no. of fish once established, any 'extras' would be given away or back to the lfs. The tank is 14 inches high, 13 to the waterline. Would that cause any problems? Would the Gourami be a suitable 'centerpiece'? In the shop they always seem quite lethargic...

Really? The Sailfin is my partners idea. These holidays down the coast we saw a fully grown one (about 45cm - stunning fish btw) in a 5 x 2 x 2 and to be honest it looke just a fraction to big for that tank. What tank size would you recomend for this combination? Edited to add: Am I correct...

btw what I would be after would be a fairly peaceful easygoing tank with relatively hardy fish. Do you think that can be achieved with those fish?

Ok one of my platys is just 'floating' near the top, with just enough movement to stop itself getting sucked up the filter. The other two are fine. They are the only fish in a 16 gal cycled tank. Water parameters are all fine, and I just did a water change (20%) just in case. Platy is not...

Yeah, I know. I probably won't be able to bring myself to do it, but on the other hand I don't want to breed 'just for the heck of it' and end up with overstocked, miserable fish :no: . We'll see. These ones have to live first, lol. :nod:

Yeah, its the tap water. Amonia is low but nitrates higher... I don't want to create a mini spike each time I do a water change.... :/
