I would def go for external filtration,maybe two external filters,ideally giving you 2,000 lph ,apart from your nitrate all else is ok ,what's the length of your 200 Ltr?,do you know what your kh reading is ?

If you don't net her and she spits the fry ,unlikely they would survive anyway ,not with leleupi and Julies in there,and yes they do hold for around three weeks sometimes longer,best of luck trying to catch her,but honestly I would hang on a bit longer

Try testing a water sample after you have dechlorinates it and it has stood for 24 hrs ,that should give you a more accurate pH reading of the water going into your tank

Sophie your correct,but its the chlorine in tap water that affects pH ,letting it stand overnight releases chlorine gas ,ever noticed all the tiny bubbles in a glass of water left overnight,that's chlorine gas

Lots of differing opinions of the ability of coral sand to buffer the water,do you know the pH of your water? Kh and GH are as important to tangs as pH and both of them can be raised by adding baking soda and Epsom salts,I also add seachem African lake salts

I would be wary of putting brichardi in with Shellie's,they do have a bad rep for pairing up ,spawning and killing everything else in the tank,I would give the coral sand a miss too ,go for play sand ,a lot cheaper or IMO the best to use is pool filter sand,bit more expensive than play sand but...

Cant be any help to you really on Malawis ,tang man myself,as far as I know most Malawis and I am not 100% on this, have a similar diet,if I am wrong hopefully someone will know better, a 6x2x2 full of Malawis will be impressive

Mixing Tangs, the brichardi ,and lake malawi cichlids will work as any fish from the same water parameters would work ,stick to fish from one lake is my advice ,N. b richardi have a rep for being evil so and so,s especially when breeding
